Truth 2 Ponder

Right now, more than ever, people are increasingly dependent on their digital devices. We think nothing of checking email, sending a text, making purchases, and even paying bills and doing our banking online. We truly live in a different world than just a quarter-century ago. For our children, it’s the only world they know. However, there is a downside. People are losing human connection and finding life vastly more stressful than in previous generations. Are we too distracted? Are we too connected? Guest host Jim Calhoun addresses that and more on today’s episode of Truth to Ponder.

Children today live in an unprecedented time. Advances in technology have been hypnotic and consuming, and those that do not share the values of faithful Christians desire to be the new guardians to replace those values with humanistic values. Is there anything we can do? The answer is yes. Today, Bob welcomes to the program, Leah Gerten, a homeschool parent from Michigan. Together they share the challenges and rewards of taking back the education of our children.

Many people talk about the secret societies, wealthy families, and shadow organizations that seek to control the entire planet, but how are they accomplishing their goals? The truth is, these cults and families have used a web of public and private partnerships that have been growing stronger and more connected with each passing decade. Today, Bob pulls back the curtain to expose where these Satanists dwell, how they deceive, and how we should prepare.

The “powers that be” are still very much in control of our daily lives. Even many “so-called” conservatives are part of the elite and should not be trusted. We are pulled in so many directions at once, it is hard to sort truth from fiction. Right now, just when you think you know what’s next, the next phase of the plan is being put in place to push this world to its ultimate end. Today, Bob shares a few strong possibilities on the horizon, and what we need to do to be ready for the times ahead.

Many of us as young children had a “jack in the box” type toy, that as you cranked the handle, would play a song, and then suddenly the lid would pop open and a clown-like character would suddenly appear. This toy kept youngsters occupied for hours. Today, many Christians and Conservatives are often “occupied” with false hopes, empty promises, and continuing declining society. They keep cranking the handle and expecting a different result. Today, Bob starts a series on breaking through the crafted lies, finding the truth, and being proactive.

Right now, the western world is fixated on Ukraine. Politicians blame Putin for all the inflation, skyrocketing energy costs, supply chain shortages, and general instability. The truth is, inflation, rising energy prices, and supply chain issues were already problematic, long before the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. So, how do you find the truth in the news, and what practical steps can you take? Guest host, Jim Calhoun, shares some real and practical solutions.

The greatest gift the democrats in Washington, DC could have ever hoped for is the crisis in Ukraine. This invasion by Russia provides the “perfect cover” to bury the total and abject incompetence of the leadership in the Whitehouse, the State Department, the CDC, the FDA, and the entire political class in charge. Vladimir Putin has become the Political Piñata. Democrats now can take a whack at Putin and blame everything on him and totally escape being held accountable for the mess they created.

In 1966 a group, Buffalo Springfield, released an epic song entitled “For What it’s Worth.” It became the rallying song of many of the 1960s and early 70s protests. Ironically, some of the lyrics, like George Orwell’s book, “1984,” are almost prophetic. Today, Bob starts exploring the stories behind the stories, and how fast we forget the prior narrative. On the second half of the program, Bob shares what God is placing on his heart in helping Christians be prepared for a very uncertain and tumultuous time.

To watch the news, the dangers of last month (and even the past 2 years) have simply vanished and a new narrative has taken dramatic hold. We are now in an age of “information Overload,” where it’s hard to keep up with the truth. The scary part is how people that just weeks ago were so divided are suddenly so united in wanting to stand up for a common cause. The last time people were this united, was in the early phases of the coronavirus in early 2020. Bob looks at a few of the missed stories, and why you need to be careful with even believing some of the so-called “Conservative media.” It's an honest look at the international dishonesty that has plagued us for decades.

It’s amazing how what was a crisis two weeks ago, let alone two months ago, is mostly forgotten by a significant majority of people when a new narrative is offered. Just like in politics, a month or two is an eternity. Unfortunately, those in marketing and even in government understand that fact, and they know how to play the news cycles and social media. Today, Bob welcomes back the Rev. Dr. Timothy Gahles to look at how we are often buying the lie without even knowing.
