In this episode, Rebekah explores Biblical Repentance and its power to do what we simply can not. No matter how hard we try to find a root cause, think through an issue, change our mindset, learn a new way of being, focus on self-care ... sometimes, what we need to do bring about the change we desire to is simply repent. 

Is confession a part of your life on a regular basis? It should be. It's a basic tenet of Christianity and yet, we hardly ever think about it as a necessary part of growth or health. This is in large part because we don't really understand what it is. Is repentance simple some vague sense of shame and guilt? Is it beating yourself up? It is apologizing to people? 

No. It's none of those things. It is a loving invitation to lay down our weakness and shame and pick up rest, power, and love. 

Let's take a quick but deep introductory look at repentance and how it transforms us like nothing else.

Do you struggle to pray consistently? Do you feel like your prayers are powerless, bouncing off the ceiling, or kind of habitual? If what we are told in John is true at all (John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it) we should all be praying, all the time... and excited to do so! 

Yet, we struggle. We do other things, like journaling, making prayer lists, and "kind of talk to Jesus all day." But for some reason, it still feels like something is missing. Am I right?

As I have begun to search the scriptures and try to relearn how Jesus teaches us to pray (undoing all the task-oriented ways I've been taught to pray) I came to a realization... a way of praying that has made me fall in love with prayer removed all guilt around not being a good "pray-er" and, finally, helped me achieve consistency is praying! 

I'm calling this way of praying Intuitive Prayer. In this episode, get an introduction to the concept and be encouraged! Prayer is a gift and a powerful, simple thing to do.... if we just pay attention.

So, we all know (or at least often hear) that obedience honors God and leads to blessings. But did you also know that obedience fortifies our inner strength and peace in various ways?

Women tend to fall into one of two categories. They over-evaluate their gifts and abilities (leading to a life of self-reliance, subject to a crash of confidence at any time) or they under-evaluate their gifts and abilities (which leads to a life of insecurity). Neither of these is Biblical confidence.

If we want to be free to rightly feel good about ourselves (a disposition that allows us to live an enjoyable life that it also God and others focused) we must do what we are told to do by Paul in Romans 12:3, “For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.”
