Paul said in Romans chapter 7, Wretched man that I am, who will set me free from this body of death? I myself in my mind am certain of the law of God but with my flesh the law of sin. The mind is critical. Romans chapter 8 says, But the mind set on the flesh is death but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace.

When you examine the illustration of the train diagram from the back of the booklet The Four Spiritual Laws, you see a train running down the track. There is an engine, there are compartment cars and there is a caboose. All the power is in the engine. If you think about the engine being fact, the compartment cars as faith and the caboose as feeling, the way we live our Christian life is that we put our faith in the facts and then God produces the feelings.

Wherever I am, I better look to God's word to see what it says about my finances, because it says something that will set me free and enable me to bless God and others.

Whatever season of life or life experience we find ourselves in, where do we turn when we hit a financial crisis? The good news is that God's word has answers, as it does for all of the challenges that we have in life.

The bottom line is this; where do you turn when you have a marriage struggle? You turn to Jesus Christ, the truth of his word and to the help and encouragement of God's people.

When we talk about the issue of where to turn when you have marriage struggles, we are not talking about a small percentage of the population; we are talking about all of us. We must turn to Jesus Christ who loves us, has a plan for us, made us, died for us, rose again and wants to enter into relationship with us.

We must come out of the darkness into the light. When we believed in and became a follower of Jesus Christ, not only did we receive the forgiveness of our sins, we received the benefit of what Christ did to set us free from sins power. We exchanged masters. Sin used to be our master and now Christ is our master.

The tendency towards addictive behavior is a result of being sinful in a sinful world. Sin has distorted our view of God, others and ourselves. Everybody struggles with something. Lets look at what Gods word says in terms of some truth considerations and some steps to freedom. Where do you turn when you're struggling with addicition?

God is transcendent yet he is also eminent. God says he lives not only in a high and lofty place but also with those who are low and crushed. Do you feel crushed? God says, I commit myself to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. There is hope in Jesus Christ!

Depression will affect every one of us at some point in our life. Does God care about my depression? Yes! Our God is a compassionate God who cares about everything that we feel and experience in life and he cares about depression.
