Truth to Ponder

Depending on when you hear this podcast, Bob will have already undergone a very intense and lengthy surgery, or maybe be in the recovery room, ICU, or his hospital room. The surgery was scheduled for early Friday morning, the 18th of September, then afterwards a substantial period of recovery. For many, surgery brings fear, just like the pandemic did over 6 years ago. However, for those of us of faith, this should just be another day of trust. Bob explains and brings back a memory from over 6 years ago. This may just be the program you, or someone you know and love, need to hear. Share with others and pray for Bob’s speedy return to the microphone.

While violent Jihad (Holy War) has been exalted in the Quran, there is a new type of Jihad taking place in the Western World. Rather than just attacking armies or committing acts of terror, the new Jihad uses open borders and gradually takes over communities and towns in their “host” countries. These new types of “invaders” never attempt to assimilate and stay separate. They get into politics and eventually control the ballot box in those regions.

On the one hand, our leader’s clamor for more ways to surveil us, control us, and even weaken us but they fail to protect us. The greatest threats are ignored, minimized, or excuses are given. Surveillance can show us a video of a killer with a mile-long arrest sheet, released multiple times by as judge, kill someone on a commuter train, but the camera of all the prior arrests did not stop the crime. Islam has attempted to conquer and enslave the world, but our leaders are deaf to the threat and call us Islamophobic. A phobia implies having a false fear. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Bob explains today.

For many, the events of September 11, 2001, have become a distant memory. Young people are no longer taught about or care about that part of history. For some of us, we can remember what we thought and experienced that day. Today, we remember our collective concerns about what this meant and what it might bring in the future. .

Many of us are old enough to remember what life was like just 50 years ago. A peanut farmer from Georgia was running for president, disco music was making its way to the radio, and America was looking for more opportunity and less politics. How did it work out?

For decades, crazy tabloids dominated the checkout lines of many grocery stores with bizarre headlines, grainy pictures of the unbelievable, and fake stories for the weak-minded. While many of those publications are gone, the addiction for the news nobody else has now lives on in the podcast, online video, social media, and even shortwave radio world. Bob sorts it out.

Where is your hope? In a politician, a leader, or is it in something far greater and eternal? Over the past generation, we have seen politics increasingly influence what should be matters of faith. It happened to both the left and the right. The left has embraced things that are forbidden in scripture and has taken down entire church bodies. The right often believes their politics is ordained by God, and they are blinded when their conservative news sources and politicians fail to measure up. Bob shares some sobering thoughts.

The next two weeks are going to be incredibly busy as Bob prepares for major surgery that will sideline him for about 2 weeks. He is trying to get programs recorded ahead and contact a few people he would love to have as a guest host for a program or two. Keep Bob and his wife, Lori, in your prayers during this intense time.

It dawned on your host, Bob Biermann, the other night that many of the news stories on both the left and the right, from the mainstream media to the new alternate media is often “low-hanging fruit” and “rage” stories. These political stories dominate the news cycle day in and day out. What good is an overload of rage stories and politics? How much of our life should be invested in only a small part of our true lives? Bob explores that question today.
