  • 036.5 - Serial Killers
Truthcast host Lauren Arnett dives deep into a series a grisly murders that happened in the Metro Detroit area.
What's Lauren's connection to this story?
How does the Hazel Park Memorial Library factor into all of this?
Could performers at Go Comedy be involved?
    Where is Capac, Michigan?
What's up with Thomas Luge's fascination with owls?
Was Dickie Rickets mentally fit to stand trial?
Lauren Arnett was played by Lauren Arnett. She performs regularly at Go Comedy: www.gocomedy.net
Thomas and Dickie may or may not be Alex Bozinovic and Mike Bobbitt.

  • 034 - Thomas and Dickie On Trial
So many questions as Thomas and Dickie go before the honorable Judge Barnes.
Will Thomas be savvy enough to defend against the prosecution Crikey Talbot?
Is Judge Barnes masturbating throughout this entire episode?
How's the bailiff's community service going?
    What's up with Crikey's accent?
Judge Barnes was played by Jason Brent, who is a real life legal guy and was worried about making the court room stuff sound realistic...even though it was for a podcast where you can travel through time by drinking the urine of Viet Nam vets.
The bailiff was played by Paul Allen...who had no idea we were going to shove a microphone in his face.
The jury foreman was EJ Watson, who was totally busy and walking past us when we shoved the mic in his face too.
Connor Meade, Jimmy Doom, Brett Mercer and Tim Den Otter recorded their parts months ago, but hopefully it was fairly seamless when you listened today.
Thank you to Jeff Sanguis and Rebel Spies! for kindly letting us end this episode/story arc with their song "What Have I Done" off their album RISE. Check them out at: https://rebelspies.bandcamp.com/
Alex and I would like to take this final chance to thank you all for making the TRUTHCAST successful this first year. We hope you like what's in store in the future.

Thank you to Cellarmen's for birthing us, and to Pj Jacokes and everyone at Go Comedy Improv Theatre for giving us our current home.
As of this recording, we have been downloaded in 35 countries around the world and our numbers increase steadily every month. It's surreal and overwhelmingly wonderful thinking that people across the globe are listening to this bit of silliness that Alex and I make with our friends.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • 033 - Free Consultation
Thomas Luge's father Reginald enlists the help of Nick Leydorf and Louis D. Michael from the Free Consultation Podcast to help in the criminal defense of Thomas for the multiple grisly murders he was ALLEGEDLY an accessory to on this very podcast.

Dickie Rickets can't be Mike Bobbitt, because Mike Bobbitt's ego is too big to do a podcast that he's not on.
Thomas Luge can't be Alex Bozinovic because Alex grew up in Hamtramck, Michigan not New Jersey!
Beginning in January, live T.R.U.T.H. show at Go Comedy! in Ferndale, Michigan will be on the SECOND Thursday of every month. You can get tickets at: www.gocomedy.net

  • 032 - Lesbians
Finally stand up comedy proves useful and not just frivolous verbal masturbation. Through his comedy connections, Dickie Rickets manages to get comedian/divorced lawyer Megan Cottington-Heath to most likely defend him and Thomas Luge after they were arrested last week for the ALLEGED multiple murders that have ALLEGEDLY happened on this podcast.
Megan was played by herself and is a real life divorce attorney by day and costumed vigilante/comedian by night. Her law firm can be found here: https://cottington-heathlaw.com/ She has a special interest in handling LGBT cases...because being unhappily married isn't just for straight people anymore!
You can find her performing very thoughtful and well-crafted hilarious comedy just about every Monday at Mac's Comedy in Lansing. If you search @macscomedy for more information on that.
Thomas and Dickie are not Alex Bozinovic and Mike Bobbitt. Alex might not hate the idea of going to prison, but that's actually one of Mike's top three fears.
The December live T.R.U.T.H. show at Go Comedy! in Ferndale, Michigan will not be happening, due to holiday shows at the theatre, but you can get January tickets at: www.gocomedy.net

  • 031 - The Zodiac Revealed!
C Ira Abernathy returns to the Truth Studios in beautiful downtown Hazel Park, Michigan to share with Thomas Luge and Dickie Rickets a break in the mystery and the identity of the infamous Zodiac!
He also reveals his new mission, cracking the case of a string of grisly podcast murders in the area.
C Ira Abernathy is played by master improviser and improv teacher Chris Petersen. Chris teaches at both Go Comedy and Planet Ant. He represents Detroit regularly in Improv Festivals across the country. It really doesn't get much better than Chris Petersen!
    https://www.gocomedy.net/

There's not enough time in the day for Thomas Luge to be Alex Bozinovic. Alex is one of the premiere comedy producers in the Metro Detroit area, co-running the Independent Comedy Club inside the aforementioned Planet Ant. He's also a wonderful comedian, and runs his own podcast That's Bullsh!t, Right? So how could Alex find time to play Thomas?
Dickie Rickets also definitely isn't Mike Bobbitt. Sure they're both new dads, but the difference is Mike's baby is real and not a plot device to be revisited later. Real babies take a lot of time! But wouldn't it be precious if Mike were Dickie and Mike's baby watched the computer screen as Mike edited the podcast?

  • 030 - Mike O'Keefe: Live Fast, Diarrhea
Motivational Speaker and Cracker Barrel owner Maurice Lundy visits the Truthcast studios inside the Hazel Park Library to help Dickie Rickets deal with his anger issues. He uncovers anger issues within Thomas Luge too!
Maurice Lundy was played very loudly by comedian Mike O'Keefe. Follow him out on Twitter at @themikeokeefe and be sure to check out his Buddy of the Groom podcast:

Thomas and Dickie are worn out after this one, and while they're not Alex Bozinovic and Mike Bobbitt, they wish they were.

  • 029 - Hollywoodn't: Invasion USA
Dickie and Thomas advise the KKK, pick their favorite Mel Gibson movies and discuss Tommy Lee Jones’ penis with critical thinker/film maker/Michigan State University film major Stephen Chowder.
Oh yeah, and Mr. Chowder drops a huge Truth bomb that's keeping him out of Hollywood!
Stephen Chowder was played by podcasting comedian and real life MSU student Johnny Mocny. Please check out his really great podcast We Are Movies: https://anchor.fm/johnny-mocny
Do Dickie and comedian Mike Bobbitt have identical mental film databases? Sure, but that doesn't mean they're the same dude.
And Thomas is nothing like comedian Alex Bozinovic, nor does Alex have a New Jersey accent.

About TRUTHCAST

From the publisher's feed

It's been called The X-Files meets Beavis and Butt-head. And that's hugely insulting because this show is incredibly serious and perhaps may be the most important podcast ever recorded.
