At this time we want to look at the first acts of our Lord as He began His public ministry. We will be looking at Jesus in relation to His beginning to lay the foundation of our salvation. We are going to look at His baptism by John, and His temptation in the Wilderness. In Jesus' baptism we see God's approval of Jesus; the pleasure that God the Father took in observing His holy life. And in the temptation of Jesus, we find the Devil's disapproval, that God's Son had now entered upon His ministry to seek and to save sinners. Even as Jesus, early in His ministry, was observed with pleasure by His Father and with displeasure by the Devil, in terms of His obedience; even so, every true Christian's obedience in baptism, and their resisting the temptations of the Devil are observed with pleasure by God the Father and with displeasure by the Devil. There are lessons that flow from this that every Christian must learn. The question that I want to ask in relation to this subject is this: How are the acts of Christ's obedience and His testing which He went through, lessons to us as Christians in regard what we should expect in living our Christian life to God? The answer is – These acts of Christ's obedience and His testing teach every Christian the following 3 lessons. 1st of all – You should see your own need to be baptized. 2nd – You should see that you will be tested and tempted following your baptism. And 3rd – As a true Christian your faith will be confirmed after you pass the test by Christ's grace.

We see the importance of speaking truth to one another in love that we may grow more into the image of Jesus.

The Book of Psalms ends with a crescendo of praise– five psalms of hearty and uplifting doxology. This reflects something of the trajectory of the entire Scriptures as well as of God's great plan of redemption for all creation. In the end, it will all be unadulterated praise to God in glory. But the final five psalms encourage us not to wait until then to praise the Lord. Instead, they give us good reason and call upon us to praise him now from the depths of our souls as long as we live. Would you please pray with me that the Lord might do just that among us through this series– that he would lift our hearts and set free any captive part of our souls to praise and worship him in spirit and truth.

Light in Scripture makes visible God's presence, His covenant promises, Christ's redemption, and the eternal glory of His kingdom. As children of light, we are called to walk in God's truth, reflect His glory, and anticipate the perfect light of His glory in the new creation.

We'll explore each book of the Torah to discover its unity and to learn about its significance and how it fits throughout the flow of redemptive history.

Meet Jesus Christ Faith Debate: Sunday, October 11th, 2026 (10/18/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) A man says he met a woman named Christina in 2023 while he was sitting on a front porch swing. She walked across the lawn carrying an iPad, like many salespeople do. The young lady sat in front of this man and his wife and began speaking about history, the Bible, and the church. Then she added that she knew the man was born with water on the brain, which is true. This seemed very supernatural, and so tears filled the couple's eyes as they contemplated what they were experiencing. This angelic-type presence didn't say how she knew the medical information; she simply looked up at the sky and smiled, telling the man three times, "You don't get it". Then she turned, and using her iPad brought a cool breeze from the north that moved through the treetops in a rotation specifically around the house and its street. Finally, she looked the man in the eyes and told him that she was sent by God with a message: "You've been kept alive to protect innocent people from evil". What should a Christian think about such a happening? Some quickly dismiss it as a lie. But if the story is real, and not a fabrication, what then?
