Donna Barber, a follower of Jesus, is a native Philadelphian, an educator, author, minister and mentor. For more than 40 years Donna has led programs that develop spirit-led, socially aware, community-minded leaders through the local church, non-profits, schools, and the university.

As a licensed minister, Donna served as worship leader for 12 years at Community Life Church, part of the preaching team at Imago Dei Eastside in Portland and finally as preacher and Elder Board Chair at The Groves Church in Portland, OR.

Donna was also the first African American elected and to serve as Chair of the David Douglas School Board in Portland. She is the author of Bread for the Resistance: 40 Devotions for Justice People, a Reader’s Choice nominee, and the recently released devotional, Enough for Today: 40 Reflections for Surviving the Wilderness.

Presently, she serves as Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Voices Project and The Voices School for Liberation and Transformation and as a leadership Consultant specializing in the leadership development of BIPOC youth.

Donna and her husband, Leroy Barber, now again reside in Atlanta, GA and together they have six adult children.
