TSN1040's Giulio Caravatta says early on this season, the Lions found a way to crumble and lose when things didn't go there way but that has changed of late as they now have the belief that they can win. Giulio also says everyone expected more of Duron Carter and the Lions will have a serious evaluation after the season on whether he remains with this club.

TSN1260's Jason Strudwick says the expectations for the Oilers goaltending has to be low this year. Jason says we all saw a great Mike Smith in the playoffs but can he do that for 40+ games this year. Jason says both netminders can be helped out by the players buying into the defensive structure that Dave Tippett wants.

Colin Miller says Marc Dos Santos and his staff have done a very good job in keeping the players motivated despite being out of the playoffs for quite awhile. Colin says you have to give the players credit as well as they continue to train hard and are bringing it every week.

TSN1040's Jeff Paterson says Jake Virtanen has never lived up to his draft spot and we have to move past that because Virtanen is what he is. Jeff says Brandon Sutter is not a playmaker so Jeff's not sure he will be able to get Virtanen the puck in a position to score goals.

The Province's Ben Kuzma believes the Canucks third line will be a revolving door this season. Ben doesn't think it will be long before we see Brandon Sutter moved to the wing and Adam Gaudette at center. Ben also thinks Jake Virtanen is on a short lease as he's developed some habits that Travis Green isn't happy with.
