TSN's Jamie McLennan says he likes the Canucks defensive core a lot better than he did a week ago with the addition of Tyler Myers and Jamie Benn. Jamie says Myers add mobility to the back end while Benn is very strong on the puck and underrated when it comes to his skill of handling the puck.

TSN's Ray Ferraro says he doesn't mind Tyler Myers on a five year deal even if the AAV is a little high but that's what happens on July 1st. Ray does question where the scoring will come from after you go past Pettersson, Boeser and Horvat. Ray also says he doesn't care what a team's identity is just as long as you have one and he doesn't feel the Canucks have an identity.

Alex Kerfoot says he wasn't expecting to get the call that he'd been traded but of all places to be traded to, Toronto has to be near the top of the list. Alex says the Leafs liked his versatility as he can play wing and center and can mix and match on any line.

TSN1040's Giulio Caravatta says traditionally, Rich Stubler's defences start slow because his schemes involve a lot of trust and communication. Giulio also says, traditionally they come out of it and hopefully this Lions team comes out of it without making too many positional/roster changes.

TSN's Craig Button says the signings the Canucks made in free agency puts them in a better position to be a playoff team next season. Craig is also of the strong belief that you won't see long term deals of eight years with RFA's but instead you'll see more players signing 4-5 year deals, which he expects to see with the Canucks and Brock Boeser.
