Farhan Lalji talks Canucks & Lions on TSN 1040. He feels Geroy Simon is a good pick for new BC Lions GM as he would be committed and has already served somewhat of an apprenticeship. He doesn't expect any announcements from the Leos until 2021. He also touched on Jake Virtanen and his up coming scheduled arbitration hearing.

James Duthie talks about his new book Beauties: Hockey's Greatest Untold stories. He recalls a great story of Gretzky & Tocchet from the 1985 Stanley Cup Finals. He also gives snippets of the Biz Nasty chapter and some of his wild antics. He also tees up the World Juniors in Edmonton.

TSN1040’s Corey Basso says on paper, the Whitecaps should have beaten the LA Galaxy but as the game went on, the Caps looked dead on their feet. Corey says the Caps could have used more fresh legs as time went on in the 2nd half.

TSN’s Craig Button says Jayce Hawryluk is a great competitor, a smart player & gets invested in the hard areas of the game. Craig says Hawryluk hasn’t found his NHL footing yet is because of skating as he doesn’t have great speed. Craig does say that if he can find a half a step of quickness/speed, he’ll find a regular role in the NHL.
