The Athletic's J.D. Burke believes the centre position continues to be a big question mark for the Canucks heading into the season. J.D. says a lot of people, including the Canucks and Elias Pettersson's camp, believe he can be a NHL centre but J.D. says the fact remains, he hasn't played much centre over the past couple of years.

TSN's Peter Schaad says it all worked out for the Whitecaps against New York City FC as they had a rotated squad with eight line-up changes, they picked up a single point at a venue where the opposing side doesn't pick up points and can now focus on Leg 1 of the Canadian Championship Final Wednesday against Toronto FC.

TSN1040's Lowell Ullrich says when you look at other teams around the league, the Lions are better than probably four of those teams, with the cross-over being their best bet to make the playoffs. Lowell adds, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg are far and away better than the other teams in the CFL.

The Athletic's Corey Brock says the Mariners pitching has continued to be good but for some reason, right now the offence can't produce runs at the pace they were doing so earlier in the season. Corey says Robinson Cano's bat will hopefully add that much needed offence when he is eligible to return on August 14th.
