Tteok Show

Need I say more? This week, Grace (@purplepolaroids) and I are talking about the BIGGEST Netflix Kdrama to date: Squid Game! Follow us as we try to navigate around spoilers and stuff that everyone's already talking about. We're sorry for the spoilers in advance D:

Squid Game might be the phenomenal, record-breaking Netflix Original, but some claim that the drama isn't that original? Squid Game copied key elements and styles from predecessors such as Battle Royale (2000), As The Gods Will (2014), Money Heist (2017-), and Alice in Borderland (2020-). Why, then, is Squid Game such a big hit??

Ah what to do now, my "healing" drama and my weekly dates with Got7's Jinyoung have come to an end ;_; Lucky for us tho, we have Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah (aka Dimple couple) from Hometown Chachacha to help us tide over Monday blues and mental trauma from watching Squid Game.... BUT THAT'S FOR THE NEXT PODCAST.

Obviously I watched the biggest Netflix Kdrama phenomenon of 2021. Hang tight folks, my Squid Game podcast episode is in the works~!

TTEOK SHOW IS 1! Happy birthday to us - and a tremendous THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me through this journey :')

Today, Beni is joining me again to talk about THE HOTTEST K-drama, Vincenzo (starring my first love, Song Joong-ki). Vincenzo Cassanova is so bad, but that's what makes the drama soooo good!!! Stay tuned to hear us talk about our rebound K-drama, Law School, and about why I thought Sisyphus: The Myth wasn't as bad as everyone was making it out to be.

"Big hands"? Honestly if you've seen Start Up but dunno what this is, I highly suggest... listening to my podcast hehe! Benita Lim and I will be finishing up our review on Start Up. We'll talk about what we appreciated in the drama, what we didn't quite understand, and of course we're gonna scrutinise how the most wonderfully-written character had to partake in the WORST love triangle EVER. #RIPhanjipyeong

If you haven't seen the drama I suggest you give it a watch before listening to this podcast cause lotsa spoilers everywhere. But if you have some intense feelings about how Start Up ended, this is the podcast for you~

Yesyes, the drama has concluded - but the drama has raised so much contention on social media that we just gotta give it a go! I tried not to include any spoilers, but if you're really sensitive about spoilers I suggest you give the drama a watch before tuning in to my podcast.

Look forward to part 2 of this podcast!
