On the death of her beloved Husband Albert, Queen Victoria began a period of mourning that lasted forty years to her death. It is considered today a somewhat extreme action by a person who never overcame the grief after her bereavement.
When Diana, Prince of Wales died in a gruesome car crash in 1997, there was an outpouring of grief for the princess which has scarcely subsided for those most affected.

5 min - Garry Kasparov on the leadership of Mikhail Gorbachev

Mikhail Gorbachev who died on the 39 August 2022 presided over the break up of the Soviet Union, with the subsequent monumental political changes in Europe over the last thirty years. As such, his life deserves the attention it is receiving.
His obituaries at the west are glowing, a reformer who brought freedom to a continent.
Boris Johnson, in one of his briefer and more thoughtful comments, noted that Gorbachev changed the world for the better and paid the price in his own career.
In Russia, many still see him as an instigator of changes that have reduced Soviet power, and indirectly led to the thinking that resulted in today’s conflict in Ukraine
One of his best-informed critics is Garry Kasparov, one of Russia’s most famous emigrés, advisor to American presidents, and ranked among the greatest chess players of all time. Kasparov has emerged as an influential critic of the political path followed by his country of birth

TudoRama explores the nature and practice of creativity in the arts, sciences, politics and above all in everyday life. Tudor Rickards is Emeritus Professor of Creativity and Organizational Change at…
the University of Manchester. Tudor studied chemistry and radiation chemistry at The University of Wales at Cardiff. Following post-doctoral research at New York Medical College, he returned to the UK to work in technical management before joining Manchester Business School. He has published numerous books and articles on creativity, sporting management and leadership, as well as fictional works involving the mythical University of Urmston. He has been influential in the development of creativity-related projects in Europe, including the European Association for Creativity and Innovation (EACI), and was co-founder (with Susan Moger) of the journal Creativity and Innovation Management. He is also author of detective stories centred around the fictional University of Urmston, and a nearby chess club which houses a top-secret government surveillance operation. His recent switch to podcasting reaches out to a wider general audience interested in current affairs, and the processes of creativity previously described in his lectures, blogposts, and textbooks.
