We’ve got one hell of an episode for you tonight BUT before we get started I wanted to share a few pics of our new table that Cody is currently constructing for the show. Tonight was a special, dare I say monumental, night for the TNCC as we reviewed our first submitted cigar. By that I mean we reviewed a stogie that was sent in to us for review and not from our own personal stash. As exciting as this milestone was for us, it also brought about a slight sense of uneasiness amongst the crew because of that dreaded thought weighing on all our minds – “WHAT IF WE DON’T LIKE THIS CIGAR?“. I LOVE John Carpenter. Like I seriously love the guy. He created the essential vital stories that ruled my formative years and his influence in my life goes far beyond that. As a filmmaker I am simply in awe of the man. In the photograph taken with him above I could barely breath. I LOVE Drew Estate cigars. WARNING: The entire group spends sizeable portions of this podcast talking in Bronsonese an ancient language where you deliver every thought in short cold emotionless sentences and usually instead of ending these statements with a period you punctuate them with a simple but ominous “now you’re dead”. I was slightly worried as I walked into O’Briens Irish Pub the night we recorded this episode. It’s only our second show and to tackle not only a cigar and beer that we had never sampled before but also a movie that 2/3 of the group hadn’t seen prior to this week… that’s some scary shit, my friends. Well folks, the first episode of The Tuesday Night Cigar Club podcast is officially in the can! While there are obviously going to be some growing pains and tweaking needed early on in this adventure (anybody remember early Simpsons or The Seinfeld Chronicles? yikes), I believe we put together a pretty damn engaging show and set a solid foundation for it to only get better as it barrels forward.
