Synopsis: Music in black / American culture has a huge spotlight that Tulsa artists are still pursuing a piece of. The only issue I see with this is that if you take the top 3 songs rather it’s local or mainstream hip-hop / RnB, at least 1 of the 3 is promoting toxic material relating to drugs, sex, violence, money, and even God. Music, Culture, and Religion are three major parts of what make people - people. What does this fundamental lack of responsibility in our music, culture, and religion mean for Tulsa music and for (black) culture in America? Let’s use our shovels to explore these topics and dig down into our souls for the gold.
