Roshan Kalra is a Partner at SB LLP and leads their Corporate group, and is also the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Commercial Property & Leasing Section and has served on various boards, including the Edmonton Inner City Children’s Program. Randip is also the creative force behind his clothing brand, Dudh Soda, which blends his passion for hockey and the celebration of Punjabi culture. With his roles as host of Hockey Night in Punjabi and the Canucks analyst and broadcaster for Sportsnet 650, Randip has been a tremendous figure and role model in not only the hockey space but in the South Asian space as well. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Sonny Sekhon describes himself as the city’s biggest fan. He has spent his entire career working to elevate the community and have more people share his vision and what Edmonton should and could be. Sonny and played and coached ice and ball hockey for nearly 30 years, and for the last decade, he has spent significant time hosting, coaching and building ball hockey teams and hosting tournaments within the South Asian community. Sonny was named to Edify Magazine's Top 40 under 40 for all his achievements in Edmonton, and also has a passion for fundraising, and has launched campaigns to raise money for the Kids with Cancer Society, SickKids Foundation, FreePlay for Kids and much more. Navin is joined by Sonny to discuss his career and journey in hockey, the Oilers playoff run, how the NHL can better grow and market its sport, the F1 scene and much more in this episode.

“Cricket in Alberta schools is already there, but we need more support… support from the government of Alberta, to have an opportunity to go into schools and present the game of Cricket… worldwide the game is getting very popular… all we need is a little better infrastructure and a little bit more help.”  - Gurdeep Klair 

Gurdeep Klair, whose journey in cricket is nothing short of inspiring, started in 2009 in Edmonton, Alberta when he and his friends stumbled upon the local Cricket scene at the Mill Woods ground, however, it was already claimed by the EDCL league. Undeterred, Gurdeep formed his own team which quickly blossomed into the Challengers cricket club. Under his leadership, the club quickly expanded into five teams and his vision led him to become Vice-President, then President of the EDCL. Gurdeep then went on to work with the Alberta Cricket Association where he worked to elevate Edmonton’s cricket scene, to provincial, national, and even international levels. Gurdeep has been instrumental in pushing local talent to the World Cup stage and has helped grow the Cricket scene in Edmonton to 143 teams.
