TV & Movie Reviews: Conan the Barbarian (1982)

Listen Later

Crossover episode with our sister podcast, The VHS Strikes Back, reviewing the 1982 movie Conan the Barbarian. This was the big breakthrough for Arnold Schwarzenegger and an iconic for the whole Sword and Sorcery genre. This epic movie also pulls in legends James Earl Jones and Max von Sydow to immediately give it a bit of gravitas.

Conan was a pulp character, created by Robert E. Howard and first published in Weird Tales back in 1932. But it was in 1970 where he first appeared in the comic medium with Marvel comics.

Special guest Brett Scott joins us from the Podshit Nerdcast, and despite being a huge Arnie fan, Chris is watching this for the first time.
