Synopsis: As Barry adjusts to life without his powers, Wells decides to leave the lab to look for Jesse. Shortly after finding her, Wells is attacked and kidnapped by Griffin Grey, who demands that Wells find a cure for his metahuman abilities. Grey has superhuman strength, but he is also aging rapidly. Barry realizes that when Grey uses his super strength he accelerates the aging process. Barry, Joe, and Cisco manipulate Grey into using more of his powers until he ages into a weak, old man before reverting back to his 18-year-old self. To fight Zoom, Wells offers to recreate the events that Barry gave his speed. On Earth-2, Hunter reveals that he kidnapped Caitlin because he is in love with her. Caitlin meets her doppelganger Killer Frost, who was captured by Zoom. Killer Frost convinces Caitlin to help her escape and then attempts to kill her. Zoom arrives and kills Killer Frost, and then warns Caitlin not to free the man in the iron mask. Later, Zoom decides to conquer the other Earths in the multiverse, and brings Caitlin with him back to Earth-1.

Synopsis:Years earlier on Earth-2, a young Hunter Zolomon watches as his father murders his mother and is subsequently sent to the local orphanage. In present day, Barry tests the tachyon accelerator and is able to enhance his speed four times greater than normal. Barry decides to re-open a breach back to Earth-2, and he believes that Cisco’s powers are the key to opening the portals. Meanwhile, Wells recounts how the particle accelerator explosion on his Earth created Zoom, an adult Zolomon, a convicted serial killer who was receiving electroconvulsive therapy during the explosion. Cisco opens a breach and Zoom immediately comes through, chasing Barry back to S.T.A.R. Labs. There, Barry uses images of Zoom’s parents as a distraction to trap him, but Zoom manages to escape. Zoom kidnaps Wally and demands Barry’s speed in exchange for Wally’s life. Barry agrees, so Wells siphons all of his speed force and leaving Barry human. Zoom injects the speed force, and with his enhanced speed he kidnaps Caitlin before escaping.

Synopsis: Barry travels back in time to when Hartley Rathaway attacked the team, and changes places with his past self in order to have Dr. Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne help him solve the Speed Force equation. However, after a Time Wraith follows Barry to the past, Wells deduces Barry’s deception and attempts to kill him. Barry is able to convince Wells that his plan succeeds in the future, but in order to maintain it he must help Barry become faster. The wraith comes to the lab, where Caitlin and Cisco are forced to accept help from a captured Hartley to deter the wraith. Afterward, the Barry from the current time arrives, forcing an explanation of the time-travel event. Wells provides the future Barry with the information needed to solve the formula so that he can return to his time. Before he leaves, Barry gives Caitlin and Cisco instructions to find a way to stop the wraith. As Barry prepares to make the jump through time, the wraith arrives, which forces the past timeline’s Barry to intervene so his future self can return. Back in his time, Barry is confronted by the wraith again, but Hartley arrives with his sonic gauntlets and defeats the wraith.

Synopsis: The Flash team work to train Barry to get faster so that he can stop Zoom. However, they hit a roadblock and decide to go out to have fun and decompress. While they are at a club, another speedster shows up and robs everyone before escaping. A Mercury Labs employee, Eliza Harmon, turns out to be the speedster, who developed Velocity-9 from samples Caitlin gave her to help with Jay’s illness. Operating under the name “Trajectory”, she invades S.T.A.R. Labs, imprisons Barry, and demands more V-9. After she threatens Jesse’s life, Dr. Wells and Caitlin make more of the drug for Eliza, who then speeds off to wreak havoc on the city. Barry tracks her down and tries to talk Eliza into giving up. She refuses and injects more V-9 into her system before speeding off. Barry watches as Eliza’s speed becomes so intense that her lightning turns blue and she disintegrates. Meanwhile, Jesse decides to leave the city to experience the world on her own. Based on what Barry saw from the overuse of V-9, the similarities between Zoom’s speed and Jay’s sickness, and Cisco’s “vibe”, the team concludes that Jay is Zoom.

Synopsis: Wells, Cisco, and Barry agree not to discuss what happened on Earth-2 for fear of repercussions. While everyone tries to move on, the humanoid shark-monster that Wells stopped, known as “King Shark”, escapes A.R.G.U.S. custody and heads for Central City to kill the Flash. John Diggle and Lyla Michaels arrive to warn Barry, which prompts him to look for King Shark and put a stop to him for good. Barry teams up with Diggle, Lyla, and the rest of A.R.G.U.S. to track King Shark, but he shows up at Barry’s home looking for the Flash, tracking Barry’s electrical field. A.R.G.U.S. arrives and forces King Shark to retreat. The teams attempt to trick King Shark into a trap, but the bait does not work. Barry forces King Shark to chase him out on the water, and when he is far enough he creates an electrified, underwater cyclone that subdues King Shark and allows A.R.G.U.S. to imprison him again. Later, Barry vows to open a breach back to Earth-2 to stop Zoom. Back on Earth-2, it is revealed that Zoom’s real appearance looks exactly like Jay.

Synopsis: Zoom realizes that Dr. Wells has returned to Earth-2 and issues a demand to the citizens of Central City to locate him. Zoom attacks S.T.A.R. Labs looking for Wells and Cisco, but they manage to escape with the Earth-2 Barry. Wells, Cisco, and Barry update Iris on what happened with the Earth-1 Barry, so they all set out to find Killer Frost in the hope that she will lead them to Zoom. After a fight, Killer Frost agrees to take the team to Zoom. The team arrives to rescue Barry and Jesse, but Zoom shows up too. The team is able to escape while Killer Frost keeps Zoom frozen and unable to move, but a third, unidentified prisoner is left behind. On Earth-1, Caitlin creates “Velocity 9“, a compound to temporarily give Jay his speed so that he can stop a new metahuman named Geomancer. After, Caitlin discovers that when Jay uses Velocity 9 the serum starts to cure his illness. Jay, Caitlin, and Joe stabilize the breach and allow Barry, Cisco, Wells, and Jesse to return, but not before Zoom pulls Jay back through the breach to Earth-2.

Synopsis: Before heading to Earth-2, Barry closes all but one of the breaches so that Zoom has no other way to travel between the parallel Earths. Using the last breach at S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry, Cisco, and Dr. Wells travel to Earth-2, but there is a surge of energy that de-stabilizes the breach. The trio will be stuck in Earth-2 until Caitlin and Jay can stabilize the breach again. Barry decides to impersonate his Earth-2 self to get more information on Zoom. Barry is attacked by Earth-2’s Caitlin and Ronnie Raymond, known here as Killer Frost and Deathstorm, agents of Zoom. Cisco attempts to help the police stop the pair, but he is confronted by his own evil doppelganger, “Reverb”. Barry tries to rescue him but is stopped by Reverb and Deathstorm. Zoom arrives, kills Reverb and Deathstorm for harming the Flash, and then imprisons Barry alongside Jesse. Meanwhile, Jay reveals to Caitlin that he invented Velocity-6 on his Earth, and that it is the real reason why he lost his speed and is dying.

Synopsis: Right before the particle accelerator explosion, Joey Monteleone was thrown into a tar pit and left for dead. Sealed away, he is freed two years later with the ability to turn his body into molten tar. He sets out to get revenge on those who attempted to kill him. Meanwhile, Dr. Wells creates a device to syphon Barry’s speed energy and attaches it to his suit. He and Barry also successfully find a way to close the breaches of Earth-2. When Barry goes after Joey, the device works, and permanently steals a portion of Barry’s speed, slowing him down. Wells gives the energy to Zoom, who demands the rest. While going after Joey a second time, Iris is injured when Barry is too slow to save her. Watching Barry wrestle with the guilt of Iris’ injury, Wells confesses. Wells pleads his case, asking to be returned to Earth-2 and have Barry seal the breaches so Zoom cannot re-enter. After stopping Joey with an invention of Wells’, Barry realizes that Wells was only trying to save his daughter, which the rest of them would have done. The team informs Wells that he will return to Earth-2, but that Barry and Cisco will be going with him to save his daughter.

Synopsis: The team discovers Turtle is dead, and Jay suspects Dr. Wells is responsible. Meanwhile, Cisco asks Harrison for help in controlling his vibing abilities. Harrison determines they are connected to Cisco’s fear response, and he triggers a vibe which alerts the team that Eobard Thawne is back. Wells surmises that this version of Eobard is from a point in the future before he went back in time to kill Barry’s mother, and was thus protected from being erased with Eddie’s sacrifice. Retrofitting goggles to induce Cisco’s vibes, the team learns that Eobard is planning to use tachyons to return to his future. Barry arrives and destroys Eobard’s tachyon machine. After a race around the city, Barry stops Eobard and imprisons him at the particle accelerator. However, his capture causes a rupture in the timeline that threatens to kill Cisco, so Barry is forced to send Eobard back to the future to save his friend. Meanwhile, Patty discovers Barry is the Flash, but when he refuses to acknowledge it, she chooses to leave the city. Caitlin tries to find a cure for Jay’s illness.

Synopsis: As Dr. Wells struggles to try to find ways to increase Barry’s speed, Cisco presents a new idea to slow Zoom down. Cisco tells the team about a metahuman, whom he has dubbed the “Turtle“, who has the ability to stop the kinetic energy around him and thus slow everyone to a halt. After Barry fails to stop the Turtle at a diamond unveiling, the team sets a trap at a local art exhibit. Barry invites Patty, with the intention of telling her his secret, but the Turtle is aware of the trap and almost succeeds in killing Patty, before escaping. Later, the Turtle kidnaps Patty, in an effort to punish the Flash. The team tracks down the Turtle, and Barry is able to generate enough speed to move through the kinetic waves the Turtle creates to knock him unconscious and save Patty. Later, Patty tells Barry that she is leaving Central City, and Dr. Wells kills the Turtle while extracting a portion of his brain. Meanwhile, Joe struggles to develop a relationship with Wally, who has been street racing in an attempt to earn enough money to pay for his mother’s medical bills.
