Synopsis: Mark Mardon breaks James Jesse and Leonard Snart out of Iron Heights in an effort to team up to kill the Flash. Leonard declines and warns Barry as repayment for him saving Lisa. When Patty learns Mark is back in the city, she sets out to take revenge against Mark for killing her father years earlier. James and Mark place bombs hidden in Christmas gifts throughout the city, threatening to set them off in family homes if Barry does not sacrifice himself. Harry, Cisco, and Jay find one of the bombs and alter its magnetic polarity; they send it into one of the dimensional breaches, which causes it to attract the remaining bombs, removing them from the city. With them gone, Barry subdues Mark and James. Patty arrives ready to kill Mark, but Barry as the Flash talks her out of it. Meanwhile, Joe learns that his ex-wife was pregnant when she left and that he has an adult son named Wally, who later shows up at Joe’s house. Elsewhere, Zoom visits Harry and agrees to release his daughter if Harry helps him steal Barry’s speed.

The man is Carter Hall, who tells them that he was Prince Khufu in ancient Egypt and that he and Kendra are soulmates who have been connected for 4,000 years. The pair are destined to die, be reborn, and find each other in each lifetime. Carter also reveals that Vandal has killed them the last 206 lifetimes, each time growing stronger. Vandal locates the Staff of Horus, a weapon capable of killing Carter and Kendra, in Central City. After Kendra unlocks her abilities, the team decides to regroup in Central City to take down Vandal for good. Meanwhile, Caitlin and Harrison create a serum that will increase Barry’s speed temporarily so that he can defeat Zoom.

Synopsis: Barry manages to recover following his fight with Zoom, but is unable to use his powers due to the psychological trauma of Zoom exposing his beating to the city. Iris reaches out to Henry Allen, who returns to the city to help Barry overcome his fears. Cisco has a date with Kendra Saunders, but leaves after seeing a winged man in one of his vibes. Grodd returns, using scientists to steal various chemicals in the hopes of creating more gorillas with his level of intelligence. He later kidnaps Caitlin to help him with his plan. The team dress Wells up as the Reverse Flash in order to trick Grodd into thinking that his “father” is still alive. The plan works long enough for Wells to rescue Caitlin before they both escape. Later, Cisco meets Kendra again, this time vibing and seeing Kendra as the winged figure… #RingThatGrodd

Synopsis: As the team works to find a way to stop Zoom, Doctor Light escapes from her containment cell after Barry was hoping that she would help them stop Zoom. Instead, her Earth-1 counterpart, Linda Park, agrees to help the team by impersonating Doctor Light. Dr. Wells creates a speed dampening serum and the team stages a fight at one of the breaches in order to trick Zoom through. The attempt fails as Zoom knew what they were attempting. Instead, he goes after Linda before fighting Barry. Zoom is much faster and easily bests Barry, showing his defeated, unconscious body to the local news and the police station, before ultimately returning to S.T.A.R. Labs. Zoom stabs Barry with his hand, but Cisco shoots him with the serum, which hurts Zoom but still leaves him with enough speed to escape. Later, Wells reveals that Zoom has his daughter Jesse and he came to Earth-1 to stop Zoom. Barry wakes from his injuries and discovers that he can no longer feel his legs.

Barry tracks down Leonard, who reveals that he was not kidnapped but is working with his father, Lewis. Synopsis: Jay explains to the team that he is the Flash on his world, a parallel Earth, and that he was in a battle with a demonic speedster named Zoom when the singularity brought him to this Earth without his powers. Dr. Stein explains to the team how Jay’s story could be possible using the multiverse theory, identifying their world as “Earth-1” and Jay’s as “Earth-2”. Zoom arrives and brings another metahuman from his Earth, named Sand Demon, to kill Barry. The two fight, but Sand Demon escapes. Cisco analyzes the “sand” left behind and sees a glimpse of the fight between Sand Demon and Barry. After Sand Demon kidnaps Officer Patty Spivot, Jay teaches Barry how to hurl lightning from the energy he creates when he runs. Meanwhile, Cisco uses his new power to tap into the “sand” particles and find Patty’s location. Barry arrives at the hideout and uses his new lightning blast to turn Sand Demon’s particles to glass, stopping him. Later, Officer Spivot joins Joe’s metahuman task force and Cisco divulges his new ability to Dr. Stein, but asks him not to tell anyone. Utilizing a satellite and electrophotography, Dr. Stein and Cisco are able to locate 52 breaches around the city. While showing this new information to the team, Dr. Stein collapses into unconsciousness.

Synopsis: Ronnie and Professor Stein turn into Firestorm and destroy the singularity, but at the cost of Ronnie’s life. Six months later, Barry is now working on his own to avoid hurting any more of his friends and family, while Cisco works in the police department alongside Joe and his metahuman task force, and Caitlin works at Mercury Labs. Meanwhile, Central City holds a ceremony honoring the Flash, and presents him with the key to the city he saved. The ceremony is attacked by Al Rothstein whose strength and size manipulation prove too much for Barry to handle on his own. He is convinced by Joe and the others that he needs help in taking down certain metahumans and the team comes up with a plan to defeat Al by allowing him to absorb too much radiation. In his dying breath, Al tells Barry that he was sent to kill him by someone named Zoom. Barry also receives a hard drive from Eobard Thawne containing his confession to killing Nora that finally proves Henry’s innocence. Team Flash throws a party for Henry, but Henry tells Barry that he won’t stay in Central City, thinking that it could hold back Barry’s duty as the Flash. Later, a mysterious man shows up at S.T.A.R. Labs, introduces himself as Jay Garrick, and declares that the world is in danger.
