After various requests to cover my Mormon upbringing, I felt the best way to do so would be by discussing the purity culture I grew up in. Purity culture is not just present in religion, it is everywhere. All of us are brought up with specific standards, relative to our specific upbringings. In this episode, I dive into what those standards looked like for me growing up, how they affected me, and how I have been able to re-program some of these belief systems.
Trigger warning: this episode includes descriptions of religious trauma as well as s*xual harassment.

Whenever an old belief presents itself stop and reflect upon its origins
Meditate. Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths. Think about this belief. What is it? Where does this belief stem from?
Ask yourself: when did I first learn this belief? Who or what presented it to me? Does it serve me?
If the belief does not serve you, release it. Envision a cleansing waterfall or light enveloping you and ridding you of this belief. Deconstructing Limiting Beliefs Journaling Prompts:
What negative feelings or thoughts am I currently struggling with? Make a list.
When did I first feel or experience these thoughts?
Did someone else first tell me these things? Or did I learn them from something else? EX: TV, movies, religion, school, friends etc.
What can I start doing to combat these beliefs?
