In certain situations, such as encounters with snakes, sharks or those survey takes are the mall, fear is a good thing. But it’s a terrible way to live. In fact, fear can keep you from going deeper with God.

Perhaps the reason we do not hear the voice of God is not because he is too busy to speak. Maybe we are too busy to listen.

They say Hernan Cortes burned his ships when he landed at Vera Cruz, Mexico in 1519. That’s why, even though he was vastly outnumbered, he was able to defeat the Aztecs and claim Mexico for Spain. But he didn’t actually burn his ships. He pushed them into the harbor and sank them. Either way, it’s called commitment.

If you want to go deeper with God get closer to people.

What if you found out there was a treasure in your possession that could answer some of life’s toughest questions? What if you found that right under your nose you had a gift that could question your most settled assumptions?

Trying hard to go deeper in your relationship with God is like treading water. It’s hard work, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.

Knowing someone is pulling for you makes any task easier. This may come as a huge surprise, but you’ve got one big fan on your side: God.
