Two Angles on Angling

After another week of many fishable days plus the ability to divide time between Lake Erie and the Lower Niagara, the guys had a lot to discuss.  As per usual, Jordan and Ryan provide an angling forecast for next week too.

They "Get Deep" about the value of setting goals - the pros and cons of doing so - what the focus should be when making goals - mindfulness - and more.

The fact that Ryan managed 7 days on the water this past week provided a lot of things for Jordan and him to discuss.  This upcoming week is looking excellent as well, so they discuss plans to take advantage of it.

Jordan and Ryan "get deep" about why they fish and where their drive for adventure comes from.

After missing their opportunity to record an episode last week, Jordan and Ryan catch up. As per usual, they discuss their observations from the water this past week and provide a forecast for the upcoming week.

In the "Getting Deep" portion of the discussion, they discuss the modern history of the Lower Niagara - starting around the late 1600s.  Something to think about if you hike or fish the "Lower."  Here is a link to the book Ryan mentioned:  Beyond the Falls: A Modern History of the Lower Niagara River: Lisa Aug: 9780963281593: Amazon.com: Books

Jordan and Ryan provide a report about this past week as well as a forecast for this upcoming week.  The region got hit with a massive amount of wind and rainfall so the forecast for the upcoming week is particularly useful.

The "Getting Deep" portion of the discussion gets into the definition of native, wild, and stocked as it relates to fish.  They discuss why these terms are relevant to angling and to an ecosystem.  We also discuss how communities of advocates (tribalism) often align themselves in the pursuit of one over the other.

Jordan and Ryan provide a fishing report from this past week.  Similar to last week, if you're a local angler or a Great Lakes angler in general, pay attention to how Ryan was able to spend so much time on the water this past week despite the challenges Mother Nature put out there - it's different from this past week.    They also discuss angling opportunities for the upcoming week.    The deeper discussion gets into how to remain creative (or try to get yourself there) when your schedule/workload keeps you focused on the daily grind.
