Two Bitches Reading Books

In this quick trailer episode we introduce our next read, the graphic novel Maus (part I) by Art Speiglman and talk about how it came to be on our radar, plus Kayla drops an unexpected bombshell on me, so we end up with some side convos, as always.

We're taking a week "off" this month, so we won't be back until 4/22/22 with the first episode of the book club on Maus. In that episode we'll talk about chapters 1-3 and what it made us think, we hope you'll read along with us! In the final episode of this season we talk about chapters 5-9 of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson. Mark dives deeper into values and leaving a legacy, but as you will soon see, we feel it's a bit contradictory. We learn the stories of tons of interesting characters in Mark's life like Erin, Josh and Mark himself and we rate the book and talk about what we hope to be taking away from it.

In this episode we talk about reading the first five chapters of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck written by Mark Manson. We learn the "rule" being not giving a fuck. We dive into values and choosing. We learn the stories of Buddha, Hirro Odona, Suzuki, William James, Pete Best and Dave Mustaine. How their choices in life, while similar, all ended differently by them taking responsibility of their lives and choosing how to react. There is a lot of laughter in this episode, probably a way we deal with trauma.

In the next two weeks we are finishing the book. Maybe we will become completely different people once all is said and done. It's no joke, we will be back on April 1st. In the meantime, we will be posting updates and other stuff on our instagram page @twobitchesreadingbooks!

In this very quick episode we are reading the synopsis of our next book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck written by Mark Manson and making a plan for how to tackle this book. We plan to finish this one in two episodes, starting with chapters 1-5, and we're hoping we're ready for the amount of self reflection Mark is guaranteed to demand.
