Two Dads Review

"That Hope Is You, Part 2"

Season Finale! Well done Discovery writers! Wrapped up all the season long plots while also setting us up with minor issues for next season. Overall fantastic season. Thanks for the ride!

Come listen to our take on the episode. Most notably, the only decent admiral throughout Star Trek.

As always, thank you for the listen and share us with you friends. Come back next week for our discussion of the series premiere of "WandaVision."

"There Is A Tide..."

Did anyone watching think that the negotiations were actually going to work? Even before the Dad-miral told Osyraa she was going to have to be tried for her crimes. We think not.

So on to the rest of the episode...Die Hard in Space! Some great fights and nail biting going on. Next week's finale should be action packed but there is a lot to still wrap up to leave a good taste in our mouths.

As always, thank you for the listen and please share us with your friends. LLAP

"Su'Kal"

Ok, we found out the cause of the Burn. Tilly lost the Discovery. Burnham and the away team have a rough go at it. Yeah I think that checked all the boxes for this episode.

Question we didn't ask while recording: how did Osyraa know where the Discovery was? There was a little exposition in the episode but was that really it? Or maybe someone is working for the enemy? Who do you think it might be.

As always, thank you for the listen. Share us with your friends, give us a review, some stars, etc. Happy New Year everyone!

"Terra Firma, Part 2"

Time for a glorious send off. But first off, the "fight" we get into at the beginning does have a good conclusion by the end of the episode. There may have been the need for a little more exposition so that the casual viewer would not have been as confused.

What were your thoughts on this episode? Did we need a two part episode to complete what was done here?

As always, thanks for the listen and live long and prosper.

"Terra Firma Part 1"

Back to the mirror universe. What did everyone think of it? Who is the Carl? Have we seen him in another form in a past Star Trek series? We like that we are working on wrapping up Georgiou's arc for this season. We still need to learn about the burn and the Emerald Chain.

If you are finding us for the first time, welcome. If you are a returning listener, welcome back. Thank all of you for your listen and we hope you come back next week for "Terra Firma Part 2"

"The Sanctuary"

Questions as you listen: 1) How bad-ass are the refit weapons on Discovery? They haven't fired a shot since the refit and we need to see it. What they are hiding. 2) Which Federation ship in in the nebula? Is it one we already know? Is time travel involved?

The Dads take the discussion on this episode into some fun places. Lots of speculation and a true deep dive into the new character this week.

As always, thank you for the listen. If you like what you hear, share us with your friends.

"Unification III"

Tilly as first officer? How do we all feel about this choice? We love her and are still a bit hesitant. Mostly just because of one of our military backgrounds.

This episode was a nice extension of Unification Part 1 and 2. It gave us some great references without being heavy-handed with the fan service. We are learning more and more about this time each episode and tied up a few story strings as well. We now know where Burnham's mom is.

As always, thank you for the listen and we hope you share us with your friends.

Time for a prison breakout episode! Plus some Grudge action and, oh yeah, the Discovery gets a refit! We need to know all about the updates to the ship but that may come in a future episode. Right now we are all worried about what is wrong with Georgiou. Tell us your theories.

As always, thank you for the listen and share us with your friends. Live long and prosper.

STARFLEET! THE FEDERATION! Finally!!! Some great stuff in this episode. Some wonderful and solemn tributes to certain ships and characters of the past. The crew was in just as much awe as we were watching it. Let's home they can carve out their niche with this new Starfleet.

As always thank you for the listen and we hope you come back for next week's episode.

NOTE: To skip the political talk, jump to the 13:20 mark.

Time to travel to the very open minded Trill homeworld. Note the sarcasm. Some beautiful landscapes but they want to cut you open and drag the symbiote out of you.

We discuss this venture into some decent character development before it is time to meet Starfleet and the Federation in the next episode. A bit of a light show, but probably well needed for what is left this season.

As always, thank you for the listen, share us with your friends and sorry for the political talk.
