Guys will do anything to impress a girl, but one Romeo's foolish plan landed him in jail on a slew of charges.
18-year-old Isael Ibrain Lima of Florida hatched a plan which involved stealing a deputy's uniform and cruiser. Police say they were called to a deputy's home to investigate a possible burglary. Deputy Yoandy Miranda, who is Lima's uncle, reported that his locked bedroom and his cruiser had been broken into.
Investigators then remembered an encounter they had a day earlier with a man at a convenience store who was wearing a police uniform and claimed to be an off-duty officer. After reviewing the real deputy's body camera footage, they discovered that the so-called officer they met at the convenience store was actually Lima and they arrested him at his home.
Lima admitted to impersonating a deputy to impress a girl and also copped to performing a traffic stop on a driver. He's been slapped with a bunch of charges, including grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft of a firearm, theft of law enforcement equipment and impersonating a law enforcement officer.
