Hellooo!
This week it's a battle between pronouns with He's All That (2021), a gender-flipped remake of She’s All That (1999), a showdown that nobody asked for but we are willingly partaking in. In He's All That, Addison Rae of Tik Tok fame plays an influencer challenged to makeover an unpopular boy to win back followers following a humiliating event. It's a little mediocre but the shortfalls are amplified when compared to the far more superior predecessor.
We also mention Cruella (2021) with Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, exploring the story behind Cruella De Vil of 101 Dalmatians. Watch it to see some wonderful costumes (but no fur!?), but we aren’t convinced this is the same villain we’ve come to know from previous iterations.
Ted Lasso, an Apple TV+ series, is firmly a favourite and comes highly recommended if you’re having lockdown blues and need a pick-me-up. Don’t worry if football isn’t your thing, it’s a sweet and heart-warming show with universal themes of teamwork and friendship.

Hello hello hello,
Bringing you a special episode of Two Friends in a Pod today. This was actually the first episode we recorded and pre-microphone, so we apologise in advance for the audio!
In this episode we touch on important topics such as the sizing of Mi Goreng but also the origins of this podcast and how we met. We reminisce on our first memorable experiences of each other and how sport (or lack thereof) plays such an important role in our friendship.
We're also comfortable talking legal jargon this episode, with our chosen movie being Legally Blonde (2001) and we look at the movie with 2021 lens.
In addition, Season 2 of Never Have I Ever came out on Netflix and if you are like us, consumed it all in one sitting. There's a lot to love this season, with more emphasis on Devi's friendships and her family. A critical questions though, are you Team Paxton or Team Ben?

Hello again!
On this episode we can't contain our excitement for the new Stray Kids album No Easy, which just dropped with a Thunderous entrance. They've been teasing fans for a while and it did not disappoint. We talk about how our commitment to the band led us to be late to a dinner and how our relationship to K-Pop has changed over the years.

Frances mentions Olivia Rodrigo's Brutal MV, with Y2K inspired aesthetics and we love it, from the plaid mini skirts to the filters. It's then a slow spiral into our almost-30 year old identity crisis and we wonder why our age prevents us from wearing what we want to. God, it's brutal out here.
We are also talking about 27 Dresses (2008), starring a wonderful Kathryn Heigl, James Marsden and Judy Greer. Kathryn Heigl plays Jane, who is always a bridesmaid and never a bride (x27) and never failing to look cute, despite the amount of ruffles and taffeta thrown at her. If this was real life, Jane would 100% be raking it in as a Professional Bridesmaid. 27 Dresses is a sweet movie, and despite some of it's shortcomings hasn't aged as badly as we thought.

Hello! Welcome to the debut of Two Friends in a Pod, with your hosts Frances and Alice.
On today's episode, we're delving into The Kissing Booth 3 and it's predecessors. We ponder on why Jacob Elordi is being type-cast and the prevalence of characters such as Noah in teen romantic comedies. Whilst we try to be kind, it's safe to say that we are firmly in the Team Marco camp and we wrap up our final thoughts on the trilogy.
But first, Alice talks about Vivo, a cute and family-friendly animated movie on Netflix starring Lin Manual Miranda as a singing kinkajou! And for those who want to know a little more about what's happening with Britney and what the big deal is, check out Stuff You Should Know's episode Conservatorships: #freebritney.
Frances also discusses Brooklyn Nine-Nine's final season finally airing and how they're adapting their show to reflect public perception of the police force but how this might seem out of place in a workplace comedy. There is also a successful plea to watch The White Lotus, a riveting dark comedy where rich and entitled holiday-goers in Hawaii slowly implode...
Stick around to the end where we go on a tangent about how excited we are for the new Stray Kids album Too Easy. If you want to see Hyunjin and Bang Chan talk about their sub-unit song Red Lights in a hot tub, watch it here.
