We’re on vacation this week, so this episode is an extension of last week’s. We discuss the opening of Something About Her, some other pop culture topics, and any updates from our personal lives.

To wrap up our Vanderpump Rules talk, we dig into a couple points of note from the uncut and Secrets Revealed episodes. Some storylines that would’ve been more compelling were cut from the season like sweet moments between Katie and Tom, and lighthearted scenes like Lisa visiting James’s new house. Unfortunately, producers decided to completely suck the life out of us and drag the Scandoval storyline out within an inch of its life. There seems to be a lot of noise coming from the rejected peanut gallery (Jo and Billie Lee…) that we probably won’t take the time to discuss going forward. We need a bit of a break after this disappointing and exhausting season!

At the top of this episode, we discuss our Memorial Day Weekends. Living in Northern Ohio does have its perks, one being how close it is to Lake Erie, and the two of us enjoyed some time near the water over the long weekend. Since we’ll both be on vacation in June, we split this episode into two parts so we don’t miss a week of providing content for our loyal listeners.

The meat and potatoes of this episode is obviously our thoughts on Part 3 of the VPR Reunion. This episode alone was almost as disappointing as all of season 11 put together. Friendships have been completely severed, boundaries have been disrespected, and the definition of honesty was changed. As you can tell by our conversation, we cannot understand where Lala is coming from with her allegations of dishonesty and frustration. We believe she rolled with a storyline that clearly didn’t resonate with the viewers like she and production thought it would, and she’s looking for someone to blame. It’s hard to watch Ariana be blindsided once again, and then be told she’s not being vulnerable and real. Where does the show go from here? The rising temperatures have us talking like native Ohioans at the top of this episode. Turning on your AC for the first time of the season is a big deal and we know some of our listeners can relate! We also discuss an interesting, somewhat traumatizing, topic that was brought up on Juicy Scoop, the lack-luster reveal of the RHOBH cast, and prepping ourselves for swimsuit season.

While this episode of the VPR reunion was kind of boring, there were still some great one-liners from Ariana during the discourse with Lala. She makes a very valid point by saying “you talk louder than everybody and so you’re right” because that is Lala to a T! Things got pretty awkward when Jo stepped on set and we couldn’t understand how Katie was made out to be the only villain when Schwartz toyed with her feelings all season. This week was filled with highs and lows. It started off on such a high with the Met Gala, and quickly plummeted after the Vanderpump Finale a day later. For the most part, we enjoyed the theme of the Gala, even though it was a little confusing, and saw many looks on the carpet that we thought were worthy of a conversation. Loewe definitely won the night with killer looks everywhere you turned! We also talked about the history of the Met Gala and fantasized about being invited one day. The way that invite list keeps growing, it’s not a crazy thought! 

What can we say about the VPR finale except that we were disappointed and disgusted. If this really is the end of the show for good, we can’t say we’re that sad to see it go. With more seasons like that, the show wouldn’t be able to survive another season anyway. While we love a good 4th wall break, the one Lala tried to execute at the end fell flatter than one of Schwartz’s awkward jokes. This got us thinking how the break might also be beneficial to the audience since we can’t even stomach the thought of watching Lala, Scheana, and Sandoval on our screens anytime soon. On the podcast this week, we breakdown some of the breaking news coming out of the Bravoverse. From the May 22 opening of Something About Her to RHOBH producers allegedly giving Dorit and Kyle an ultimatum, we discuss it all. Hannah also brings up Elizabeth Smart’s book and Ailish introduces the viral discussion “man or bear.” 

On VPR, Scheana and Sandoval immediately make up following their blowout fight at the end of last episode. We also find out that Ann has started working for Ariana and Katie, but WWHL revealed that she has since had to take a different job. Later, the cast takes a trip to San Francisco for Kyle Chan’s whiskey launch where we get some real time with Ariana and Dan. While watching this episode, we felt so frustrated and more disheartened. It’s unfathomable that people who are supposed to be Ariana’s friends are continuously defending her ex and trying to make her out to be the problem. *Queue Lala’s horrid comments about her relationship with Dan* The episode wraps up with Schwartz proposing a one-night-stand with Katie and Schean, yet again, having a “heartfelt” conversation with Sandoval. While we loved what Scheana had to say, given Sandoval’s behavior in recent months, it seems like it all fell on deaf ears.

Jax Taylor is back to begin this episode of VPR. He’s around to throw a brunch at Sur with James which leads to a confrontation with LVP. Both of us felt a little conflicted by the current state of their relationship. On one hand, Lisa and Jax really didn’t leave things in a good place and, at the end of the day, she was his employer. However, she was always like a mother-figure to him and she was in his life a significant amount of time, so cutting contact does seem a bit harsh. Some of you might disagree, but we had to side with James when it came to leaving Hippie with a stranger to travel for a wedding. Given all that the dog has gone through, he needs some stability and it just didn’t seem like the right time. Of course, Lala had to insert herself into the situation and announce that her experiences trump everyone else's, and make the claim that James always puts himself before Ally. We also see a pretty nasty blow up between Scheana and Sandoval to close out the episode which left us exhausted by his behavior yet again. Hannah continues to feel a little disheartened by this season of Vanderpump, but Ailish is trying to be positive. Both of us do wonder where next season can go from here when there’s been so much division between the cast which makes interactions feel less genuine.

This week, we discuss some recent books Hannah listened to which brings us into a discussion on true crime. We both love to listen to podcasts and watch documentaries, but when the victim isn’t the main focus, it leaves us feeling conflicted. To lighten up the mood, we also talk about weekend 1 of Coachella, rumors about Andy Cohen leaving Bravo, and Hannah’s son’s recent birthday.

The sperm party was not fun to watch, and asking Ariana and Lisa to host it at their houses made things more strange. This episode lines up with the drop of Rachel’s interview with Bethany, so that was a throughline as well. Our 60th episode is here, and we’re ready to talk about our high school tennis careers and early seasons of America’s Next Top Model! Thinking about how Zendaya has been killing it at the Challengers premieres got us reminiscing on what our doubles game could have been. Not all is lost though, because we’ll be honing our skills this summer and be ready for action by next year. If anyone knows any tennis leagues near us, comment and let us know! We also talk more about ANTM since Hannah started rewatching from the beginning. There’s just something about those early seasons that really have a hold on us. 

Another week goes by and we’re left feeling frustrated with VPR. Between the comments being made in the confessionals and during the after show, to digs coming to Instagram and Amazon Lives, we just don’t know where the cast will stand next season. We’ve discussed our issues with Lala’s actions again and again so far this season, and we’re starting to sound like broken records! In this week’s episode, we do see Jo hate-dye Schwartz’s hair which adds a bit of entertainment. After seeing a post by a super sleuth and doing some digging of our own, we discover some interesting facts about Jo’s career as a hairstylist. Regardless of all that, we do actually feel bad for Jo since it’s clear that Schwartz led her on for way too long. We also see the first glimpses of the Tori love triangle and Lala’s sperm bank journey. We’re back together, live and in person! We’re feeling a little in our feelings post-holiday, and hope some of you can relate to not getting an Easter basket as an adult or difficult conversations at the family dinner table. After recapping Elliot Page’s book last week, Hannah rewatched Juno. That movie still gets laughs today and the soundtrack will always be synonymous with the early 2000s indie era. Ailish also watched Apples Never Fall and All of Us Strangers, and gave solid reviews for both.

This week’s episode of VPR attempted to paint Ariana Madix as the victim, Post-reunion, a certain costar has even made it her mission in life to bash her any chance she gets (ahem…Lala). We can talk about this until we’re blue in the face, but Ariana is feeling all her feelings and that’s totally okay. We loved what Nicola Coughlan said on WWHL about friends who went through a similar situation in our normal lives would be given at least a year to grieve and “act out”. Ariana is going through her grieving and mourning process; leave her alone! Things really heat up at the pool party which, unfortunately, continues into Beach Day pt. 2. The gang tried horrible jokes, sticking up for Sandoval, and silence, but none of these things could fully salvage the day. Except maybe Scheana randomly mentioning that all the guys in the group have flirted with her at some point. That did take the focus off of Tom and Ariana for a second! In the uncensored and uncut edition of this episode, we also saw some confessional clips from Ann, and a very telling lunch with the Toms and Kyle Chan. Knowing that horrible conversation was edited out makes us believe the men have been getting the good edit for years and that Stassi was right.
