Two Guys One Cup

It's another day, and another Jordan Binnington tantrum on the ice. The guys are tired of talking about it, but they'll devote a whole episode to it, anyway.

The St. Louis Blues continue to struggle. We continue to suffer. But at least we've got cookies.

The St. Louis Blues traded all of their unrestricted free agents, then made surprise additions of Kasperi Kapanen and Jakub Vrána. Where does that leave the franchise and the rebuild... retool... re-whatever? The guys discuss.

The St. Louis Blues have traded their captain, Ryan O'Reilly, to the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's a sad day. But it's also the start of the future.

The era of Vladimir Tarasenko in St. Louis is over. He's been traded to New York Rangers.

In 644 career games with St. Louis, Tarsenko finished fifth all-time in goals scored with 262, as well as fifth in points with 553. He graced the cover NHL 17, was a two-time All-Star, notched a 40-goal season in 2015-16. Throughout it all, he was a consummate professional, devoting his time on and off the ice to the city and community he loved.

No one will ever forget his heart-warming relationship with pediatric cancer patient Arianna Dougan, which brought more light to the scourge of pediatric cancer. Eventually, the organization "Spread Ari's Light" was formed in her honor (donation link included below)

Vova realized his ultimate dream of bringing a Stanley Cup to St. Louis in the summer of 2019. Though the relationship may have soured since then, he is and remains a franchise legend and will receive nothing but love in this podcast.

Once, in his article for The Player's Tribune, Vladdy wrote: "I came to St. Louis five years ago. I was a little scared. But here, I have found home. Thank you."

Though St. Louis might no longer be his hockey home, here's hoping it remains his true home for a long time to come. Do Svidanya, Vladdy. All the best in New York.

On Groundhog Day, the guys ask the kitchen if they serve Deja Vu because the guys are certainly feeling it. Doug Armstrong is hurtling towards the trade deadline faster than Phil Conners towards a train on an all night bender, but Doug's guessing he's gonna swerve first.

The guys look back on how the hell the Blues ended up where they now are, facing down the prospect of a total rebuild. Too late for flapjacks?

The St. Louis Blues continue their more-or-less .500 season with an embarrassing loss at home to the hapless Chicago Blackhawks. But they are far from the most embarrassing thing in the NHL this week...

The St. Louis Blues continue to be unpredictable as the injuries mount up. The guys talk about... things...

I'm gonna be honest, it's almost 1:00 AM ET as I write this and I just got back from watching the Jaguars mount an all-time NFL comeback. I don't have the willpower to write catchy show notes. So if you read this, congratulations. I hope you enjoyed my suffering. Oh yeah, one last thing:

DUUUUUUUUUVAAAAAAAAAALLL!!!!

This episode was recorded on Wednesday. It was posted on Saturday. Because one of the guys is an idiot. No telling who, but his name rhymes with even.

The St. Louis Blues have had a fine week, just fine. 2022 draws to a close, and the guys talk about the Blues trade chips.
