Did you know that It's a Wonderful Life was based on a book? Don't get too excited; it's not the answer to one of the questions. (Nor is Gone with the Wind; the picture is not a clue. Sorry).
Keeping with our Hollywood theme this week, this quiz will test your knowledge of Tinseltown's best and worst book-to-film adaptations. And with twenty points to play for, anything could happen.
As usual, let us know your score on social media.

It's Friday quiz time again!
Chances are, you've read or are reading a self-help book. Whether it's purging those negative emotions from your life or coming up with a set of rules to help you live it, chances are these hallowed tomes will find their way to your bedside in this age of self-doubt and perpetual crisis. So it's entirely appropriate given the immense seriousness of some of the topics they cover that the quiz today is immensely trivial, specifically:
Can you fill in the missing words in ten well-known self-help titles?
It won't change your life, but it will keep you entertained for ten minutes. Wait, maybe there's a self-help book in that...

Are you ready to start approaching agents, but not sure how to formulate your letter? Then this is the podcast for you. Ed puts his editor hat on and takes us through his guidelines for a well-thought out query.
What is a comp?
What are the sections in a query?
What are the biggest mistakes he’s seen when he runs his query letter surgeries?
How many words should it be?
Julia and Ed cover all this and more.
And if you want Ed to look over your letter, he does offer editing services. Email him here.

When Ed said he wanted to write the romance quiz, Julia agreed with trepidation; however, she had nothing to fear. Of course, he did have to put his own twist on it...

Gloucester author, Anita Faulkner, has been shortlisted in the Katie Fforde Debut Romantic Novel Award category with her novel, A Colourful Country Escape, for the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s (RNA) annual Romantic Novel Awards for 2023. The awards celebrate excellence in romantic fiction in all its forms.
Anita writes warm and fuzzy romcoms from her upcycled bureau in the Cotswolds. Described by her agent Kate Nash as ‘a sparkling new voice’, Anita’s debut A Colourful Country Escape was published by Little, Brown (Sphere) in June 2022 and was a contender for the RNA’s prestigious Joan Hessayon award. Her festive novel The Gingerbread Café came out in October 2022 and is simply too delicious to be missed. Anita runs a lively bookish Facebook group called Chick Lit and Prosecco and was shortlisted for the RNA’s Media Star award in 2021. You’ll often hear her chatting about books and quirky news on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Love it or hate it, the semi-colon has its uses. Ed and Julia wax lyrical about this oft misunderstood punctuation mark.
NOTE: We discuss how the semi-colon was chosen as a symbol of strength for people who are struggling with mental health issues and suicide. If you are struggling, please reach out for help.
