Southeast Missouri freshman goalkeeper Bailey Redden won her first Ohio Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honor on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. A native of Belleville, Illinois, Redden recorded 11 saves in two games last weekend, becoming the first SEMO player to win an OVC weekly honor this season. Redden recorded her third shutout of the season in a 1-0 road win at Eastern Illinois (Oct. 11). She logged a total of 204 minutes and gave up just one goal in two contests. Redden boasts a .841

In an effort to help increase cancer awareness and prevention, the Southeast Missouri football team will again wear special Pink Up jerseys during the team's Pink Up game against Jacksonville State on Oct. 20. Southeast Missouri senior running back Marquis Terry was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Terry broke the SEMO and OVC single-game records in both rushing yards (311) and all-purpose yards (438) in the Redhawks 48-44 victory over rival Southern Illinois. Sophomore outside hitter Laney Malloy was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. Malloy led the Southeast Missouri women's volleyball team offensively last week with 63 kills over four matches to produce a team high 68.5 points. Head coach Julie Yankus said Malloy is playing some great defense and she is terminating efficiently in the front row. Malloy, a transfer from Illinois-Chicago, is currently ranked fifth in the OVC with 3.31 kills

Southeast Missouri junior inside linebacker Zach Hall was all over the field in last week’s season opening game at Arkansas State. After recording a career-high 22 tackles, Hall was recognized as the National Defensive Player of the Week by STATS, as well as Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Hall’s 22 tackles tied for third-most in a game in school history and are the most by any player in all divisions of college football so far this year.
