The 1998 Baseball Team will be inducted into the Southeast Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame this upcoming spring, Southeast's Department of Athletics announced Thursday. SEMO's 1998 Baseball Team became the first in school history to win the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament and advance to the NCAA Division I Tournament. Guard Tesia Thompson has been named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, January 2, 2018. In two games, Thompson averaged 16.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game over the week. She poured in 10 points and three rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench in her first career OVC contest against Belmont. Former Southeast Missouri starting quarterback Jeromy McDowell was hired as the Redhawks offensive coordinator, head football coach Tom Matukewicz announced earlier this month. McDowell returns to Southeast after working the last four years at NCAA Division II Colorado Mesa. He spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as the Mavericks offensive coordinator.
