Two Texas men have been charged with plotting a violent takeover of a Haitian island, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas. Prosecutors say the men planned to kill the island’s male residents and enslave women and children, while taking steps to prepare for an armed invasion. The charges include conspiracy to murder, maim or kidnap in a foreign country and production of child pornography.
