Us Two Wise Jawns are gals of a certain age and so a topic ever-present on our minds, and honestly, one that's likely been percolating in the mind's of most women since Aunt Flow made herself comfortable circa puberty is our FERTILITY -- each month is a reminder!
This episode we discuss all of the uncomfortable data points, science, and realities of our female biology -- In vitro fertilization (IVF), egg freezing, egg donors, surrogacy, how age affects infertility and the ability to carry to term, etc. All of the fun stuff!
We know Meghan Markle is pregnant with her first child at 37. And that R&B singer Amerie had her first recently at 38. And Beyonce had twins at 36. And Serena Williams was also over 35. And JLo, and Janet Jackson, etc..
But plenty of women struggle -- Gabrielle Union (46) for example has had 9 miscarriages, some naturally, some via IVF. And both Beyonce and Serena have been transparent about their complications during pregnancy and delivery. And finally, Kim Kardashian's doctor told her that her second pregnancy (age 35) nearly killed her and that if she wanted a third child she would have to adopt or engage a surrogate.
