In light of the gospel, in light of how we are to live sacrificially for God, in light of using our spiritual gifts... we must have love for one another. In this passage, Paul defines the nature of love, as well as 9 ways in which the Christian can practice and live out love towards one another.

  • Show brotherly love toward one another

  • Show honor to others over self

  • Don't be lazy in what you ought to be doing

  • Overflow a godly spirit

  • Be constant in prayer

  • Give to the needs of other believers

Every Christian has been graciously given spiritual gifts by God. These gifts are to be used for the edification of the body and ultimately for the glory of God.

  • Christians are different parts of the same Body used for the same purpose

  • Christians are to use the gifts that have been given to them

If the Christian is going to live a sacrificial life to God, it starts with the renewal of their mind.

• Do not be conformed

• But be transformed

• By the renewal of your mind

• So that you will be able to prove God's will

Paul urges the Christian, in light of the gospel, to live a life of sacrifice to God. This week we will look at the reason for this sacrifice, and the attributes of this sacrifice.
