Tyler Hodgson is the Executive Vice President of Growth at UMortgage and the Founder of NXT Mortgage. Before entering the mortgage industry, Tyler served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. After his military service, he pursued a career in finance, earning a Master's Degree from the University of North Texas and becoming a licensed Certified Public Accountant. 

  In late 2016, Tyler founded NXT Mortgage, a Dallas-area brokerage known for its focus on company culture and team member experience. Under his leadership, NXT became the top brokerage in Texas, achieving recognition on the INC 5000 list for most successful private companies in the nation for three consecutive years: 2021, 2022, and 2023. 

With an aligned vision for the future of loan origination, NXT Mortgage merged with UMortgage in 2022, with Tyler taking on the role of EVP of Growth. He has been instrumental in the company's success, contributing through personal production, branch expansion, and his involvement in company-wide projects and initiatives. Despite market challenges, NXT's volume has grown each year, and Tyler has been consistently ranked on the Scotsman Guide Top Originators list since 2018.    

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son. He is an avid runner and enjoys playing beach volleyball. Tyler is passionate about coaching and inspiring others to reach their full potential.
