The gig economy has transformed the lives of millions. Whether it's Uber or Deliveroo - the rise of smartphones and apps has provided a new way to earn money.

But there is a question lingering over the gig economy: are the apps companies employers? And if that's the case, are they liable for employees' rights and benefits?  Well, the UK Supreme Court has just agreed that at least for one specific case that's how it should be.
