Episode 1 In this multi episode series where Team Uber Cube (10 Curators) are challenged to submit bulk rares (no greater than $2 US) in a first come first entry cube project where each curator builds upon the previous. This is a fun exercise in progress where you can learn the cube construction process by using those cards that haven't left your binder in years for limited to no cost.
The Rules:
This is a community playgroup project. We are compiling our bulk rares and mythics (not exceeding $2 US (minor exceptions apply) into a cube. Cube size to TBD.
Step 1: Assign an admin to manage the database
Step 2: Each curator submits 45+ cards to the pool.
Step 3: Tag Assignments (see show notes)
Step 5: Tuning the Cube (Curve, Guilds, etc.)
Step 6: Sleeve, shuffle, have fun!

During this episode Anthony Adams aka. Uber Bear and Stu discusses how Magic the Gathering has evolved from a cube design perspective. The team banters on the pillars of Magic and how each portion of the color pie is both defined and evolved in Magic's 30-year history. In addition, we discuss both design and curation utilizing the "paper, rock scissors" method for both archetype choices as well as power balancing. This was a fun "meta" conversation in which we dissect several unique secret cards and establish how they have melded with various portions of the MTG color wheel and adsorbed the expected attributes.
