This episode I brought on a guest and long time friend/homie of mine Ruben Garcia that I met in 2012 as a freshman at the University of Oregon. I met Ruben in the dorms even though we weren't roommates we essentially were. We connected over music, sports, and just being clueless freshman trying to find our way. Our paths were very different, but I think we both connected because we were lost souls. Ruben had a rough upbringing and no male role model in his childhood. I lost my father towards the end of mine. I've had Ruben's back through all he has been through, which has been a lot. Ruben's also been an unwavering friend to me throughout the years even though I made career choices that he didn't necessarily vibe with. Ruben's story is unlike anybody I've brought on the show before. Learning from the lows of life really will teach you a lot and make you built different. I know Ruben will be successful because of everything he's been through he continues to fight for the life he envisions. I'm proud of him in the fact that he admits and knows his faults and he isn't afraid to speak on it. Most people never find that kind of power within themselves as they try to deflect all of their insecurities and make excuses. This episode is def intended for mature audiences only as we talk about some real S*** here. Be on the look for Ruben's upcoming book as he has a great idea he is bringing to life. Seventy-second Episode released on 10/16/2020. Hey pod fam, I am back after another absence due to my trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my close friends eloping and attending another wedding. It was a great weekend in Vegas and I came back with a lot of perspective which I packed into this episode. It was a really quick trip but totally worth it. I was disappointed because I missed game 6 of the NBA Finals (which I never miss the Finals) but other than that what a weekend! I skipped Monday's pod because I didn't want to rush writing the outline and honestly I was drained from Vegas.  In this episode I touch on being open to meeting new people because I most definitely made some new friends while in Vegas. I also felt the drag and lag from when I came home so I go over a few things to address that. Lastly, why are we always wanting to win arguments with others? In the end I don't think it's worth it and it's a lot of energy exhausted, and for what? Just ask yourself and you may be surprised that your arguing for no apparent victory. Seventieth Episode released on 10/02/2020. How we doing y'all? I hope you guys are ready for the last 3 months of 2020. We have 1/4 of the year left to propel us into 2021. Take it serious and personal. I've been trying to record these episodes more based on things that are currently happening in my life, whether it's work or just things I'm noticing or picking up on. This is episode 70! It touches on YOU, you're gonna have you when no one else has got you. YOU can always count and rely on yourself to pick yourself up. I also hit giving more appreciation out, which I know I have covered before but its just a crucial time to do so with everything going on in the world the way it is and everything people have been through this year. Lastly, I talk about how one poor decision can lead to a catastrophic type event. I literally saw this unfold this week on a case I worked. Be safe out there, make good choices, you never know where life is going to hurl you. I was a bit off this week on the timing of the pod. I took some time off of work and I really didn't put it towards grind time (other than the gym and being active). I took some time to myself and filled it with doing things that were fun. Sixty-eighth Episode released on 09/21/2020. To be honest with you guys, I didn't even feel like recording this episode today until I listed to a new podcast created by Jeff Logan called Becoming THE Beast. The amount of energy brought forth, told me I had to get back on track and sit down and record for you guys. The reason why I haven't dropped any content as of late was because I had to evacuate from our home last week due to wildfires. While, thankfully our house didn't burn down and we were able to return home, it still was a crazy stressful time for a whole lot of people in this area. I took my podcast equipment with me, but I just couldn't get in the right headspace to sit down and record anything. Today finally woke me up, and this episode is coming to you late and I didn't even use an outline. But the message is there. LOVE the life the you live and cherish each and every day but we never know when our time is up or what thing out of our control is going to happen. That's what I'm trying to get across here and I know it's long winded and can be a redundant message, but it's true. I hope everyone is staying safe in these crazy times out there, I don't think 2020 is done surprising us so stay alert and ready! Sixty-seventh Episode released on 09/07/2020. Happy Labor Day y'all! I hope you guys all had a great relaxing weekend. I really enjoyed mine up to this point. Several good times with a lot of good A** people. Life don't stop for no one, so keep on shining out there. Today's episode coming to you was kind of a quick one. I touch on delegating certain tasks, after doing your research, to others. As fast paced as our world is today, and everything needed to get things done, it would be nice to have some help. I've been looking more into this and I think it's where I'm headed with how much is on my plate. At some point you have to learn to manage others, so I'm starting out small, with easy to explain tasks that will save me time which I can then use into other more important things. Let me know if any of you guys use VA's or other services to help out your productivity. I also hit protecting your future by being clear with you intentions. I still have work do to in this area, I'm not going to lie, but I think it's a good area to grow in. You will thanks yourself and others will appreciate the open communication. Last, I was thinking about a trip, while I recorded this, but it may fizzle out cause I'm not much of a golfer. LOL. However,  I may still do it at some point and the overall point is still solid. Take that trip. Schedule it. Don't worry about the money, you will always make more. Still thrilled to be bringing you more content and I appreciate any and all feedback. Sixty-fifth Episode released on 08/31/2020. I can't believe the month of August is almost over and we are heading into September. Damn time goes by quick, this pandemic summer has been odd. Anyways, happy Monday! Hope you get off to a great start to your week. My new schedule has given me Monday's off, which is weird to me, but least I get a weekday to get some things done. Bringing you guys this episode after reflecting on the weekend and everything that was packed inside of it. The world lost some great ones over the weekend (notable celebrity deaths, as well as others, REST IN PEACE legends). In this episode I touch on some of that and how I cope dealing with loss. Also, do you guys have a small group of people you stay around (ie. your circle) or you could call it your tribe. I think we all need this, while the world seems more connected than ever due to technology, don't forget to have those in person socialization settings. Lastly, I speak on our friend AGE and how growing older is a gift because you receive so much wisdom throughout your years. I hope this finds you in good light and you find value in it. Sixty-fourth Episode released on 08/28/2020. What's going on guys, hope you all are about to have an amazing weekend. It's been a while since I've done a guest episode, but I finally sat down with one of my closet friends, Ross Palmer, and we hit some good talking points. Unfortunately, due to distance, we used Zoom to record and the audio on Ross's end isn't the best of quality (thanks Airpods lol). But it will do.
