UCP: The GamesMaster Retrospective

Richard Sylvester from Berkshire changes masks on Kid Chameleon, The Krypton Factor's Gordon Burns has a blast on Blastris, and it's double bubble as we get a second celebrity challenge with London Monarch's Victor Ebubedike taking on The Celestine brothers on Football Frenzy!

GamesMaster helps struggling gamers on The Magical Quest and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (as well as Aunty Marisha's soggy flans), and get holy in the review zone as Gods (SNES), Populus II (MegaDrive), and Utopia (SNES) get reviewed.

Plus, we're joined by the Review Zone's Dan Tootill to discuss how he got involved in the show, filming his reviews twice, and getting stick at school for being on national TV. It's a fun time wielding big choppers.

It's time to get culty in the Review Zone, as Blues Brothers (SNES), Dalek Attack (Amiga) and Star Wars (Game Boy) get reviewed, the 32-bit computer war gets underway as representatives from Acorn, Atari and Amiga show off their new systems, and GamesMaster helps struggling gamers on Krusty's Super Fun House, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and U.N. In loving memory of Seb Patrick.

Simon Bland from Croydon shoots up on T2: The Arcade Game, Mark Wignett and Huw Higginson from The Bill also shoot up on Gallagher's Gallery, and Nintendo Champion Thomas Paterson also shoots up (albeit shooting hoops) on NCAA Basketball in the first of his Patterson Challenges!

Get your hears pumping and spirits erect as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (MegaDrive), Pirates (NES) and Super Star Wars (SNES) get reviewed, Andy Wakefield takes us through the making of the Super Nintendo advert, and GamesMaster helps struggling gamers on Super Mario World, Blazing Skies, and Pushover. And there's information on those Daily Mail and Sun headlines about computer games killing children.

There's everything from the Milky Way to Uranus as Warspeed (SNES), Elite 2: High Frontier (PC) and Eye of the Storm (PC) get reviewed, and GamesMaster helps struggling players on The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Kid Chameleon and Super Smash TV. It's a Games Rig new year funk-a-thon!

GamesMaster isn't just the UK's greatest video game challenge TV show, it's now also the UK's greatest video game multi-format magazine! Released in December 1992, GamesMaster would run for an impressive 25 years, ending recently in October 2018.

In this bonus episode, Luke and Ash dive into the first issue of the magazine - with news on Street Fighter II on the MegaDrive, Sonic the Hedgehog tearing up the music charts, and the launch of the 3DO! There's previews of Mr. Nutz, James Pond 3: Operation Starfish and Wing Commander on SNES, along with big reviews of The Simpsons: Bart's Nightmare, Micro Machines, and *that* review of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. All that and Dominik Diamond's big purple column! It's a lot to get to grips with!

Happy new year! And GamesMaster is in full panto mode, as David Finch bangs his way to Uranus on To the Earth, Carl Lewis races aganist Colin Jackson and Linford Christie on Quest for Gold/The Carl Lewis Challenge, and it's shades of 1966 as Sega European Champion Rezar Abdolali takes on British Sega Champion Carl Roberts in one-on-one Streets of Rafe 2 action!

Rub your helmet in glee, as Tornado (PC), Harrier (PC) and Air Warrior (PC) all get reviewed, and GamesMaster helps struggling gamers on Super Addams Family, Dalek Attack (with an actual Dalek) and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles: Fall of the Footclan. They don't make TV shows like this anymore.

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas 1992, everyone! On this festive outing, Paul Tucker takes on murderous mince pies of Santa's Xmas Caper, the finals of the Street Fighter II tournament sees GameZone face Mean Machines for multi-format magazine glory, and special guest Bob Holness challenges his grandson Oliver Gibson to Volfied.

Shine your helmets as Super SWIV (SNES), Steel Talons (MegaDrive) and Maximum Overkill: Comanche (PC) get reviewed, GamesMaster helps struggling gamers on Super Soccer, James Pond II: Codename Robocod and The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, and we get a special feature on Action Replay and the Game Genie with Wayne Beckett from Datel, and "The Game Genie Guru" Mark Stoneham. You could easily be in Santa's grotto!

Plus, we're joined by Mark Stoneham to talk about his Game Genie Guru moniker, how he got involved with GamesMaster, and his rather unique job working for Hornby.
