UCP: The GamesMaster Retrospective

We leave our Channel 4 shores this week to check out Violet Berlin's post-Bad Influence life on her Bravo show Gamepad. It's aimed at a more mature audience than Bad Influence, but a less drunken audience than Thumb Bandits and Bits. Does it hit the mark?

On the show, Violet reviews Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2) and Terminator: Dawn of Fate (PS2), and previews Divine Divinity (PC), Team S.AS (Xbox) and Rolling (Xbox). Plus, Mike Attaway from Official Xbox Magazine gives us a crash course on Moto GP: Ultimate Racing Technology (Xbox), while Violet counts down the top three horse racing sims. Sure, why not.

Have we all got our degrees in thumb bending at the ready? In the ashes of Bits rose Thumb Bandits on 4Later for a short-lived run that was heavily hated online. Mostly because they often got things wrong, sometimes because they fancied Aleks but hated Iain, and massively because they gave Max Payne a bad review. It was also a show that was heavily re-edited and re-filmed after airing. So let's take a look at it.

There's reviews of New York Race (PS2) and WWF SmackDown: Just Bring It! (PS2), previews of Shrek (Xbox), Transworld Surf (Xbox) and Batman: Dark Tomorrow (GC), and a look into the adverts that will be selling you things this Christmas season. Plus, the Kangaroo Court compares Headhunter (DC), Time Crisis 2 (PS2) and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (PS2) to see what's the best shooter out there.

As well as a review of Silent Scope on the Dreamcast, and there's a beat 'em up battle between Street Fighter EX3, Dead or Alive 2 and Tekken Tag Tournament.
