Today we kick of a week on the book of Jonah, that rebellious prophet. First we talk about how God takes our worst failures and turn them into stories that can change the world. That’s what God did with Jonah, there’s strong evidence that Jonah was the author. So the fact that he put his hatred and selfishness on display shows that his heart was changed and that there’s hope for you and me! Then we talk about how Jonah lost the joy of God’s presence by disobeying God and how that’s the same for us. It’s a space to search our hearts and see if we are missing out on God’s joy because of disobedience. It’s an invitation to come back to joy. The we hear an amazing moment from our spring fundraiser, Share. Moody Radio’s Jon Gauger leading a listener to Jesus on the air! And finally we put an exclamation point on how God turns our failures into stories that can change the world, from the book of Jonah. Jonah’s failure to obey God led to the salvation of some pagan sailors and finally Jonah saw the darkness of his own hateful heart and was changed. We know that because he authored the book so that we would see his folly, turn from ours, and find hope in receiving and giving away God’s grace!
