There has been ongoing speculation on whether China has played any part in the ongoing protests and riots that have swept across the United States. The Daily Signal reported that the website for Black Futures Lab, which is a venture of BLM founder Alicia Garza, has ties to a pro-Chinese government organization.
If you go to the organization’s website and click the donate button, it shows that the money goes to an organization called the Chinese Progressive Association, and the page notes that “Black Futures Lab is a fiscally sponsored project of the Chinese Progressive Association.” We'll be taking an in-depth look at this.
And on August 29, people in China began to report that one of the four major state-owned banks in China, the China Construction Bank, quietly released a digital yuan wallet service for its app, and then quickly disabled the feature after it gained widespread attention. There has been speculation in China on why this happened, and some took it as a sign that the Chinese economy has a bottleneck. We'll look into what may really be behind the digital yuan launch.
