It’s not all about farming on this edition of UK Perspectives. UK’s College of Agriculture, Food & Environment -- cleverly abbreviated as CAFE -- houses 14 academic units teaching everything from Community and Leadership Development to Veterinary Science to Horticulture and beyond. Overseeing it all is our guest, CAFE Dean Nancy Cox.

The Reynolds Building on the UK Campus was constructed as a tobacco warehouse in 1917. Soon it will be the new home of UK’s College of Design. Dean Mitzi Vernon of the College of Design stopped by our studios recently and shared her plans with us.

For over 40 years the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History in the UK Libraries has been the go-to source for scholars and researchers. It is recognized around the world as a leader and innovator in the collection of oral history with thousands of interviews on topics ranging from politics and public policy, education and literature, coal communities and life in Appalachia, as well as African American History. It’s this latter topic we take up with center director Dr. Doug Boyd.
