  • The Kremlin’s Internal War Intensifies

Russian forces are losing ground near the Dnipropetrovsk-Zaporizhzhia line while strikes are also reaching targets inside Russia, including the Kremniy El plant in Bryansk. Kremniy El is tied to missile, air-defense, drone, and electronic-warfare production. The fighting is no longer limited to trenches and forward positions. It is now reaching the industrial base that helps keep Russia’s war machine running.

At the same time, Kyiv is using combat experience to press Washington for more air-defense support. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has argued that interceptor-drone knowledge, software, operators, and production capacity should be part of a broader exchange for badly needed air-defense missiles. He says experience against mass Shahed attacks now has direct value for countries facing the same threat. That shifts the argument away from aid alone and toward combat-tested capability.

Russia is also losing part of the bot network it has long used to shape foreign opinion. X told British lawmakers it suspended 800 million accounts over 1 year for manipulation and spam violations, and reporting on that testimony said Russia was the most prolific state actor behind those operations. The report that Vladislav Surkov may have left Russia remains unconfirmed, but it matters because Surkov helped build the older Kremlin political model. If figures from Putin’s old circle now look vulnerable, wartime strain may be reaching the regime itself.

  • Kremlin's Dangerous Next Step

Russia is currently constructing a permanent machinery of mobilization that avoids the political backlash of a single massive decree. This hybrid system relies on massive financial incentives and sophisticated digital registries to pull men into uniform. The state is paying record amounts for contracts while simultaneously tightening the administrative noose around the eligible population.

The introduction of the MAX messenger system and centralized digital databases marks a shift toward total state control. These tools ensure that draft summons are impossible to ignore and that evasion carries immediate consequences. New laws allow for conscription efforts to remain active throughout the entire calendar year without interruption.

Economic strain is mounting as regional budgets are drained to fund these escalating sign on bonuses. The human cost on the front remains staggering with high losses recorded for minimal territorial gains. This quiet expansion of coercion suggests the Kremlin is preparing the infrastructure for a larger conflict.

  • Kremlin's Global War Teeters

Russia is no longer treating Ukraine like a limited war. It is now clear that Moscow sees this as part of a much wider fight, one that links Russian military production, its partnership with Iran, pressure on NATO's frontier, and political interference across Europe. One of the clearest examples is the drone pipeline tied to Alabuga in Tatarstan, where Russian production and Iranian-designed attack drones show how the Kremlin has pushed this conflict far beyond Ukraine.

That strategy is getting more expensive. Russia is still trying to look strong, but pressure inside the country is growing. The war in Ukraine keeps draining manpower, money, and its ability to adapt. Moscow is also relying more heavily on outside allies than it wants to admit, especially when those relationships create new risks instead of solving old ones. What once looked like reach now looks like overreach.

The political side matters just as much as the military side. Hungary, Moldova, Romania, and Georgia show that the Kremlin treats elections, influence, and instability as part of the same fight. Finland's place in NATO raises the stakes even further. Taken together, this leaves a Russian system stretched across too many fronts while losing the control it needs to keep that strategy alive.

  • Putin Signals Mobilization

Putin looks less visible and more questioned than the Kremlin can control, with Western tabloids circulating fresh health narratives and personal-threat headlines. In an authoritarian system, rumors are a threat because they signal weakness and invite elite doubt. Then the Middle East lit up on 28 February 2026 when the United States and Israel struck Iranian targets. Iranian retaliation followed with drones, missiles, and proxy operations, and risk around the Strait of Hormuz made oil and shipping the next battlefield. Global fear pulls attention outward, and that gives Moscow cover to tighten control inward.

Russia got pulled into the story on 06 March 2026 during an NBC News interview with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Araghchi said Russia and China support Iran politically and otherwise, and said Iran-Russia military cooperation has continued and will continue, while refusing wartime details. That gives the Kremlin a ready excuse to label domestic tightening as wartime national security instead of politics. War language also pushes the public away from leadership questions and toward obedience cues.

Moscow’s next moves follow fast. A nationwide civil defense siren test ran across all 11 Russian time zones and citizens were told to switch to TV or radio for instructions, meaning state channels. A presidential decree dated 04 March 2026 set Armed Forces staffing at 2,391,770 total units, including 1,502,640 military personnel, numbers that point to manpower pressure during escalation. Reports circulating in pro-war circles also warn about Telegram restrictions and draft-related enforcement pressure, alongside rising elite pressure around figures linked to Sergey Shoigu’s circle. As external escalation raises costs and uncertainty, a strained wartime economy makes coercion easier to sell than results, and the regime leans harder on censorship, enforcement, and purges.

  • Moscow Panic As It Loses Its Last Leverage

Putin is trying to pressure Europe with gas; it’s his last tool of influence. But Europe’s dependence on Russian gas has already dropped significantly, making these threats look more like bluffs than real power.

At the same time, Ukraine is targeting the systems that keep Russia’s war machine alive, ports, shipping, and energy logistics. When exports get disrupted, the Kremlin loses money, and when the money drops, the war effort and internal control both start to wobble.

Then the domestic pressure hits: manpower shortfalls, draft fear, and a regime that needs force at home as much as it needs soldiers at the front. This video ties those threads together so you can see what Moscow is trying to hide.

  • Putin’s Energy Monopoly Shatters

Russia sanctions evasion oil trade is the primary contest in 2026: Moscow is working to substitute blocked Iranian exports and capture illicit market share in Asia, but the same crisis that drives news also increases hidden costs that really determine Russian actual revenue. In a restricted system, price is not the main factor, clearance is, because every shipment must pass insurers, banks, ports, registries, and document checks before it becomes usable war funding.

Russian crude does not move like standard OPEC oil. It flows through discounts, middle agents, ship to ship transfers, reflagging, longer routes, and payment workarounds, and each layer takes a cut while adding time. When global risk rises, that evasion system gets more expensive and more brittle, brokers charge more, compliance slows, and payment timing slips, which is why Moscow can ship more volume and still receive less money, later. That is where internal pressure builds, because shrinking clean funds turns procurement and security into a zero sum struggle inside the Kremlin.

The result depends on timing: late cash stalls contracts, late contracts stall parts, late parts increase losses, and rising losses require higher bonuses and more force. When that cycle speeds up, the government moves resources from winning to controlling, and that is when internal fighting becomes the main risk. The market story is simple: Russia best case plan is more share at lower profit, and the failure case is a blocked evasion pipeline that breaks the war timeline.

  • Moscow Patronage Failure Sparks Iran Crisis

Kremlin patronage is built on one promise: protection for allies under fire, and Iran is now demanding proof. Visible protection would mean air defense, escorts, deployments, and senior crisis travel to Tehran. Instead, there is no public evidence of protective deployments, and the only confirmed Russian military movement described is evacuation, not reinforcement. The deployment of an Ilyushin-76 to Tehran for the sole purpose of removing Russian personnel serves as a stark contrast to the hardware and boots on the ground required to stabilize a failing regime.

Moscow leans on statements at the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency, but statements do not change outcomes on the ground. Russian diplomatic activity is portrayed as misaligned with the crisis, including domestic reassurance messaging and low impact engagements in Brunei or Madagascar that do not materially help Iran. This prioritization of peripheral diplomatic events over a core alliance exposes a widening gap between promises and published evidence, and it forces partners to recalculate the value of Russian guarantees.

The pattern is framed as consistent with earlier moments when Russia could not preserve allied regimes and instead offered refuge after collapse rather than protection before it. The consequence is a credibility audit of the Moscow system and its dependency network, with Iran treated as the stress test. As pressure rises, Moscow is depicted as prioritizing self-preservation, because internal destabilization risk inside the Putin regime becomes the dominant constraint.

  • Kremlin Freight Crisis Spreads After Iran

Russia’s ability to keep fighting in Ukraine is being degraded by measurable system pressure, not by messaging. Four interconnected pressure systems are colliding inside this war: logistics, industry, manpower, and internal control. Industry is being squeezed by sanctions-driven bottlenecks and component constraints, slowing replacement of missiles, drones, and electronic warfare systems. Manpower is under stress as recruitment becomes more expensive and less reliable, pushing wider draft tools and higher churn that weakens cohesion. Internal control is hardening as Rosgvardia and the security services expand coercion capacity to manage instability risk at home while resources are consumed abroad.

Slower trains produce slower offensive tempo. Constrained factories turn precision weapons into rationed assets. Rising recruitment costs degrade unit quality and increase coercion. A growing security state signals preparation for shock. Iran-linked turbulence and Gulf escalation amplify volatility across drone ecosystems, sanctions enforcement, shadow logistics, and energy chokepoints that feed directly into Russia’s war economy. This convergence of industrial and logistical friction creates a compounding effect that undermines the state's ability to maintain its current military posture over the long term.

The intersection of these systemic pressures represents a shift from a war of messaging to a war of attrition dictated by physical and economic constraints. As the gap between required resources and available supply widens, the internal stability of the war machine faces unprecedented stress. Monitoring these specific metrics - rail throughput, component availability, and recruitment costs - provides the most accurate map of the conflict's trajectory. By focusing on these measurable system pressures, the reality of the degradation becomes clear, stripped of the noise of political messaging and focused entirely on the functional mechanics of the war.

  • Iran's Axis Breaks: Russia Loses Its Lifeline

The Iranian regime is reaching its limit as events move fast because the fighting is escalating. Right now, the U.S. and Israel are hitting Iran’s missile sites and major military facilities. Tehran is still leaning on its proxy forces to keep a grip on the situation, but the domestic situation is unraveling. People have had enough, and it’s getting harder to deny the government is losing control. With targets being hit across the region, including as far as Cyprus, the regime’s survival may hinge on what Iranians do next. The chain of command is getting hammered, but the bigger question is what happens when the top of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps starts to crack. When that happens, instability ripples through the whole network. We’re watching the machinery of Iran’s network: the cash, the weapons pipelines, and the logistics that keep it running. If the pressure holds, these proxy groups can splinter fast, and funding can seize up overnight. That includes money laundering networks in Latin America, which turn into a serious liability as the center weakens. This also hits Russia hard: Moscow could be losing a critical partner at the moment they most need wartime support. If the money and protection dry up, the whole system, from criminal networks to battlefield supply chains, can fail in a chain reaction.CHAPTERS:00:00 Regime Under Fire in Iran01:32 Precision Strikes Target IRGC Leadership03:18 Iran Launches Regional Missile and Drone Attacks05:05 Iran War Directly Impacts Ukraine06:42 Iran, Hezbollah, and Latin America Network08:10 Russia Weakens as Iran Falters09:45 Iran’s Failing Oil and Proxy Strategy11:32 Will the IRGC Defect or Fight On13:05 Russia Abandons Iran as Fear of Escalation Fades14:35 Why This Matters for Ukraine’s Victory👏 Become a Channel Member: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1txJ3q_-g_vhOeIwYOKEeQ/join⚡⚡Connect with Jason for real-time analysis & verified updates: Substack: https://jasonjaysmart.substack.comSpotify: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/jason-jay-smartTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jasonjsmart X (Twitter): https://x.com/OfficeJJSmart Facebook Personal: https://Facebook.com/JasonJaySmart Facebook Professional: https://Facebook.com/OfficeJJSmart LinkedIn: https://Linkedin.com/in/JasonJaySmart Mastodon: https://defenseofliberty.social/@OfficeJJSmart BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/JJSmart.bsky.social YouTube: https://YouTube.com/@JasonJaySmart Website: https://JasonJaySmart.com.Dr. Jason Jay Smart, also known as Jason Smart and Jason J Smart, is a political adviser who has lived and worked in Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Latin America. • The Ayatollah Has Fallen: Regional Chaos Spreads

Operation Epic Fury is a multi-day US and Israeli strike campaign against Iran. President Donald Trump says the goal is to eliminate Iran as a threat and stop Iran’s nuclear program. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is treating this as sustained wartime posture as the region braces for retaliation.

Will oil prices jump? The Strait of Hormuz is the global oil chokepoint. If Hormuz tightens, tankers back up, war-risk insurance rises, shipping costs surge, and oil prices spike before shortages even show up. This hits wallets fast, and it hits everywhere.

That spillover hits Russia and the war in Ukraine immediately. Moscow and Vladimir Putin have leaned on Iranian Shahed drones and related supply links, so pressure on Tehran can squeeze Russia’s strike capacity and logistics. At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is pushing for peace talks with Moscow, and any shift in Iran’s role can change Russia’s leverage, timing, and battlefield calculus.

And Hormuz is not the only oil pressure point. Reports around US action in Venezuela, including claims tied to Nicolás Maduro, add another layer of uncertainty over global supply just as the Gulf becomes the market’s tripwire. If both tighten at once, prices can move hard.

Then comes the power scramble. Maryam Rajavi and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) are pushing “provisional government” language tied to the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq). Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last Shah, is another exile figure competing for recognition in any post-regime scenario.
