In a massive escalation of the air war, Ukraine has struck two critical pillars of Russia’s military power. While the world watched Moscow launch a record breaking swarm of drones against Kyiv, Ukrainian intelligence and special operations units quietly dismantled the eyes of the Russian air defense network in occupied Crimea. The elite Prymary unit successfully destroyed key radar systems linked to Russia’s S-400 network, including the sophisticated Nebo-U and P-18 Terek radars. These sites were essential for surveillance of the Black Sea and protected the peninsula from incoming threats. Their loss leaves wide gaps in Russian radar coverage and exposes the Black Sea Fleet and military airfields to further devastating attacks.
At the same time, Ukrainian drones penetrated deep into Russian territory to hit the Beriev aviation plant in Taganrog. This facility is not only the hub for Russia’s 270-million-dollar modernization of Tu-95 strategic bombers but also housed one of Russia’s ultra-rare A 60 airborne laser aircraft. The A-60 was a secret Soviet era project built to target satellites and blind advanced sensors. Only two were ever produced. Updated assessments now indicate that the Taganrog aircraft has been destroyed in the strike. This attack removes a unique technological asset that Russia cannot quickly replace due to sanctions and a lack of specialized components.
Russia responded with a chaotic barrage of more than four hundred sixty Shahed type drones and twenty two missiles aimed at Kyiv and other cities. Several of these drones crossed into Moldova and NATO member Romania, forcing Allied jets to scramble. However, these large scale strikes are draining Russia’s stockpiles and forcing it to rely on foreign suppliers like Iran and North Korea. This comes at a time when Russia’s economic engine is stalling, with oil and gas revenues projected to fall by thirty five percent this month alone.
This video explains how Ukraine opened holes in Russia’s sky defenses, how the laser plane loss affects Russia’s long range capabilities, and why Moscow’s air war is becoming economically impossible to sustain.

Russia is selling its gold reserves to survive as its arms industry collapses.
In this video we analyze how the Russian arms industry has entered a historic collapse that is forcing the Kremlin to liquidate its national savings. For decades Moscow funded its global influence by selling tanks, aircraft and missiles abroad. Before the full scale invasion of Ukraine Russian weapons exports brought in roughly 14.6 billion dollars a year and made Russia the second largest exporter on earth. Today independent data shows that revenue has fallen close to 1 billion dollars. Russia’s share of the global arms market has been cut by more than half as clients turn to the United States, France, South Korea and Israel instead.
The industrial failure was visible at the Dubai Airshow 2025 where Russian firms showed plastic mock ups of the Su 75 Checkmate and recycled Su 57 prototypes instead of real export fighters. Long term partners in India are facing years of delays on S 400 air defense systems while reports of engine talks with Pakistan’s JF 17 signal a desperate scramble for cash that undermines decades of trust.
Behind the scenes the Kremlin is burning through the National Wealth Fund. Before the war it held over 400 metric tons, about 441 short tons, of gold. By November 2025 that stock had fallen by more than half and the Central Bank is now selling physical gold bars into the domestic market to fill the budget gap and keep the war machine running. Arms exports are collapsing and oil revenues are shrinking while the sovereign fund is being stripped. What was sold as the second army in the world is being revealed as a Potemkin superpower held together with fake jets and disappearing gold.

Ukraine has brought the war deep inside Russia. A long range Ukrainian FPV drone located and destroyed a Russian Mi 8 helicopter flying far from the front. The strike happened inside Rostov Oblast and shows that Russian airspace is no longer secure.
The same night a major power plant near Moscow was hit by a drone. The Shatura energy facility burned for hours as Russian officials reported intercepting seventy five drones and suspending operations at Zhukovsky Airport. These new deep strikes highlight a growing weakness in Russian air defense coverage across the Moscow region.
At the same time Russian railway troops sabotaged their own military train in Rostov on Don. They set fire to an electric locomotive carrying ammunition and joined the ATESH partisan network. Their message was simple. They were done fighting a war for a system that refuses to pay them.
These three events reveal a larger pattern. Ukraine is expanding strike options inside Russian territory. Russian infrastructure is becoming a repeated target. Morale inside Russian units is deteriorating. Moscow is struggling to protect its rear while trying to maintain offensive pressure in Ukraine.
This video examines the new deep strike phase of the war. It explains how these attacks force Russia to move air defense systems away from the frontline. It shows the growing role of sabotage inside Russia and why the Kremlin is losing control of its own territory. It also evaluates the long term impact of these attacks on Russian logistics, power facilities, military aviation, and overall war planning.

Russia’s sudden push for a peace deal is not a diplomatic shift. It is a sign that the Kremlin feels pressure it can no longer manage. This video explains why Moscow is urgently demanding negotiations and why the timing reveals deep military and economic strain across the Russian state. The analysis shows how Iran, China, and North Korea each fear the consequences of a Russian breakdown. These governments rely on Russia for discounted energy, weapons testing, ammunition trade, and political support. A weakening Russian state threatens the stability of their own regimes. This is why they want Moscow to secure a pause before Ukraine’s deep strikes and infrastructure attacks create even greater pressure inside Russia. We examine the reported peace plan moving quietly through Washington and explain how its terms lock in territory taken by force. We also review the strikes against Russia’s substations, refineries, and logistics hubs, the shutdown at Tuapse, the damage at Syzran, and Moscow’s admission that it intercepted dozens of Ukrainian drones in a single night. These events show how far Ukraine can reach and why the Kremlin wants time to stabilize. The video also covers the economic indicators behind Russia’s negotiation push, including shrinking gold reserves, weak bank liquidity, ammunition shortages from North Korea, and growing complaints from regions that cannot meet recruitment or payment obligations. Combined with rising social tension and visible infrastructure strain, these signs point to a state under extreme pressure. This investigation explains why Russia seeks peace now, what dictators gain from a ceasefire, and why stabilizing Moscow has become essential for authoritarian regimes that depend on Russia to maintain their own positions.CHAPTERS:00:00 Russia Only Talks Peace When Losing01:04 Authoritarian Network Under Threat02:00 Jason Smart Introduction02:33 What Is Really Happening Inside Russia03:12 The Peace Plan Trap04:04 Forced Territorial Concessions04:43 Russia’s Low Value Withdrawals05:12 Eastern Ukraine at Risk05:53 Russia Cannot Afford the War06:18 Catastrophic Russian Losses06:56 Visible Internal Collapse07:33 How Russia Survives07:55 North Korea’s Artillery Lifeline08:44 Iran’s Drone Pipeline09:29 China as Economic Oxygen10:08 Why Moscow Wants Peace10:50 Venezuela Distraction11:26 Joint Cyberattacks on the West11:55 Matryoshka Influence Network12:26 Russia’s Shadow Alliances13:00 The Danger of a Bad Deal13:40 Only Russian Defeat Brings Peace14:20 Closing Message👏 Become a Channel Member: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1txJ3q_-g_vhOeIwYOKEeQ/join⚡⚡Connect with Jason for real-time analysis & verified updates: Substack: https://jasonjaysmart.substack.comSpotify: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/jason-jay-smartTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jasonjsmart X (Twitter): https://x.com/OfficeJJSmart Facebook Personal: https://Facebook.com/JasonJaySmart Facebook Professional: https://Facebook.com/OfficeJJSmart LinkedIn: https://Linkedin.com/in/JasonJaySmart Mastodon: https://defenseofliberty.social/@OfficeJJSmart BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/JJSmart.bsky.social YouTube: https://YouTube.com/@JasonJaySmart Website: https://JasonJaySmart.com.Dr. Jason Jay Smart, also known as Jason Smart and Jason J Smart, is a political adviser who has lived and worked in Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Latin America. Russia is facing a command crisis that has now broken into public view. The most powerful general in the country is trapped inside a system that no longer trusts him and can no longer function without him. General Valery Gerasimov has vanished repeatedly from high level meetings and battlefield reports. He reappears only in short bursts of carefully edited footage that offers no real evidence about when or where the recordings were made. The confusion around him is not accidental because the Russian military command structure is tearing itself apart from the inside.
Key deputies linked to Gerasimov have been arrested on corruption charges. These officers were responsible for secure communications, fortifications, and logistics. Money intended for soldiers and battlefield protection was siphoned into private empires, luxury spending, or personal real estate. The scandal has shaken the Russian military because it confirms what many suspected. The system that was supposed to run the war is sinking under the weight of theft and infighting.
Battlefield failures have accelerated the crisis. Russian units are suffering from friendly fire, broken supply lines, and collapsing morale. Intercepts reveal officers begging for basic equipment that never arrives. Gerasimov cannot be removed because his firing would signal a total admission that the war has failed. Putin keeps him in place to absorb public anger and to shield the Kremlin from responsibility.
This video breaks down the structure of this internal collapse, the corruption that triggered it, and the growing fractures inside the Russian command network.

Vladimir Putin faces a catastrophic financial reality as India officially suspends long term oil contracts with Moscow. This strategic shift removes the last reliable buyer of Russian energy exports and traps the Kremlin in a devastating buyer’s market. The Russian Federation is now staring at a structural revenue deficit of over eighty billion dollars for the coming fiscal year.
Urals crude is trading near fifty four dollars per barrel which is significantly below the break even price required to fund ongoing military operations. Financial models indicate that Russia loses hundreds of millions of dollars in potential revenue every single day at these depressed price levels. The war economy has cannibalized the civilian sector to the point of total infrastructure failure.
Heating grids in cities across Russia are bursting because maintenance budgets were seized to pay for artillery shells and soldier salaries. Ordinary citizens are now filming ice forming on the interior walls of their apartments while the government exports gas to fund the invasion. This creates a dual crisis of financial insolvency and social instability.
Ukrainian drone strikes have further exacerbated this collapse by permanently disabling refining capacity and reducing diesel exports to their lowest levels since 2020. The shadow fleet of aging tankers is facing new sanctions enforcement that makes oil transport prohibitively expensive.
Inflation is destroying the purchasing power of the ruble and basic staples like butter are now locked in security cages to prevent theft. This analysis breaks down the mathematical certainty of this economic decline and explains why the loss of the Indian market marks the end of the current financial model for Russia.

The war in Ukraine has entered a definitive new phase as American ATACMS missiles strike the Russian city of Voronezh. This confirmed attack on day 1364 proves that Vladimir Putin’s red lines are nothing more than a bluff. For years the Kremlin warned that long range strikes would trigger a nuclear response but the reality on the ground tells a completely different story. In this video we analyze exactly how the Russian air defense shield has shattered and why systems like the S400 failed to stop Western weapons from hitting a major industrial hub of over one million people.
But the ATACMS strike is only the beginning of the strategic nightmare for Moscow. Ukraine has now deployed the FP5 Flamingo missile which is a domestically produced weapon capable of hitting targets 3,000 kilometers, about 1,860 miles, away. This game changing cruise missile uses vintage Soviet jet engines to bypass sanctions and delivers a massive 2,500 pound, roughly 1,130 kilogram, warhead deep into the Ural Mountains. We break down the technical specifications of the Flamingo and explain how it compares to the American Tomahawk in both cost and effectiveness.
The failure to protect Voronezh exposes a critical structural weakness in the Russian military strategy. Putin’s generals cannot defend the front lines in Donbas and their industrial heartland at the same time. With the introduction of the Long Neptune and Flamingo missiles Ukraine can now strike refineries, shipyards, and factories that were once considered untouchable. This deep dive explores the total collapse of Russian deterrence and what it means for the future of the Ukraine Russia war in late 2025. Watch this full report to understand why the rules of engagement have changed forever and why there is no safe zone left for the Russian war machine.

Russia is entering a financially catastrophic phase as oil prices collapse toward thirty six dollars per barrel, shattering the foundation of the Kremlin budget and exposing the economic weakness behind its war. A petrostate that depends on high energy profits cannot sustain a long conflict when its main source of revenue is falling faster than the government can respond. Every drop in price tears a deeper hole in the financial system that funds Russia’s military machine.
The impact is visible across the entire sector. Buyers in Asia are stepping back, shipping costs are rising, insurance coverage is shrinking, and Russian crude is piling up in floating storage that drains money instead of generating it. The shadow fleet that once carried sanctioned barrels is being blacklisted and pushed out of safe ports. Russia is exporting more risk and receiving less profit with every voyage.
Inside the country, the damage multiplies. Budget data has disappeared from public release, major companies report severe profit declines, and households have withdrawn billions from the banking system. Industrial shutdowns are expanding and regional populations continue to fall. These pressures combine into a financial crisis that cuts directly into Russia’s ability to fund artillery, missiles, drones, and basic logistics.
This price crash is not a temporary setback. It is a structural break that accelerates Russia’s decline and limits the Kremlin’s capacity to project power beyond its borders.

Russia’s air defense system is failing at the exact moment it is being tested by faster drones, deeper strikes, and wider disruptions across the country’s industrial interior. Over the last two weeks, Ukrainian forces and sabotage teams have repeatedly exposed structural gaps that the Kremlin once insisted did not exist. At the same time, the United States is tightening secondary sanctions that target the energy network funding Moscow’s war. The result is a coordinated pressure system hitting Russia from the air, on the rails, and through global markets.
Ukrainian jet powered drones are now reaching targets nearly 1,450 km from launch, a distance comparable to flying from London to Rome. These strikes are hitting refineries, fuel hubs, and power stations that were supposed to be shielded by layered defenses. Facilities at Ryazan, Saratov, Volgograd, Kuibyshev, Novokuybyshevsk, and Tuapse have all suffered major damage, even though each site sits under radars and missile belts the Kremlin once advertised as among the best in the world. The repeated failures in Oryol, where three strikes in two weeks caused rolling heat and power outages, reveal deeper weaknesses inside Russia’s early warning grid.
New intelligence and reporting from energy analysts show how Washington’s sanctions and Kyiv’s strikes are now operating together. The older G7 oil price cap strategy is effectively over. In its place, the United States is pushing aggressive secondary measures designed to hit any entity doing business with Russia, while Gulf producers increase output and offer discounted barrels to India and Asia. This gives Ukraine the freedom to disable export terminals without driving global prices upward. The strategy is simple: take Russian barrels offline, replace them with Gulf supply, and drain the revenue that funds the war.
Ukraine’s strategy also strikes at the heart of Russia’s logistical depth. Sabotage along the Trans Siberian Railway in Khabarovsk has disrupted the movement of North Korean artillery shells headed to the front. Power grid failures around Veshkayma are forcing operators to reroute electricity through weaker lines, increasing the risk of cascading blackouts across the Volga region. Each disruption limits Russia’s ability to sustain its operations and exposes how thinly stretched its defenses have become.
For NATO and the West, the stakes are strategic. A weaker Russian air defense network reduces Moscow’s deterrent credibility and narrows its ability to escalate. As Ukrainian drones reach new ranges and as sanctions tighten around the energy sector, the war is moving into a phase where the Kremlin can no longer assume its interior is safe. Every successful deep strike accelerates the shift already underway: a Russian state struggling to protect the infrastructure that sustains its war machine and the economy that funds it.

Ukraine’s naval strategy is dismantling Russia’s ability to operate freely across the Black Sea. Recent long-range drone strikes on Novorossiysk and Tuapse show that Ukraine now projects power far beyond Crimea, reaching deep into what Moscow once considered protected naval territory. These operations expose the widening vulnerabilities inside Russia’s coastal infrastructure.
This analysis breaks down how each hit on fuel depots, electrical nodes, and naval support facilities weakens a fleet already suffering from corruption, slow repairs, and shrinking access to safe harbors. Maritime drones and long-range air drones have pushed the battlespace directly into Russia’s industrial network, forcing Moscow to defend coastlines it never expected to guard.
Repair yards, dry docks, oil terminals, and refineries across multiple regions are now within reach. For a navy dependent on stable fuel flow and predictable maintenance cycles, these disruptions carry long-term strategic consequences. This assessment examines how repeated strikes are degrading Russia’s naval readiness and limiting its ability to reposition ships or launch cruise-missile platforms at scale.
Russia’s submarine infrastructure faces parallel strain. Environmental damage, sanctions, and failing logistics have slowed operations at key bases. When piers warp, docks stall, or fuel convoys fail to arrive, underwater forces lose the ability to sustain patrols. Ukraine’s objective is clear: restrict Russia’s missile-launch capacity from the sea and tighten control over maritime supply routes. Each successful strike leaves Moscow’s fleet more predictable, more cornered, and less capable of projecting power.
