From his earliest years as an aspiring comic book artist to being one of the most soulful songwriters I've met, Barak Hill delivers his unique character in a way that you feel like best friends within minutes of showing up. He shared his story here over several different drinks and we enjoyed a great afternoon together. Please enjoy the show!

  • Tempest In A Teapot.....Butler Takes On Russia & The Foo Fighters

There's A LOT going on in the international geo-political arena these days, and it just makes sense to bring in former Navy SEAL, CIA Field Officer and current Fire Captain Jeff Butler to give his perspective. We go over the Russia-Ukraine scenario a bit, delve into some great home brews from Lora Martinson and end up rambling about concert documentaries. Along the way we listen to "This Ain't Goodbye" by Dane Page and mock one another ceaselessly. Tune in for a great show!

  • A Word With The Wizard, aka Ashton Lewis

With an impeccable pedigree in the brewing world, Ashton Lewis arrived in Springfield in June of 1997 to be a part of the Mueller Co.'s opening of Springfield Brewing Company. Ashton started homebrewing as a junior in HIGH SCHOOL. Read that again. So to say that he's lived his passion for the majority of his life is something of an understatement. In this hour we enjoy some "Radio Haze" by NoDa and "Petrichor" by Outer Range as well as get his take on my "Crazy For Swayze Hazy". An informed expert who's worked in about every aspect of the beer world, Ashton gives an hour of his time to tell his story; take a listen and see why they call him "The Wizard". Cheers!

  • "I Like The Swerves".....A Conversation With Kelsey Pearsall

From what she thought was gonna be a crush on Ken Burns to feeling like she was "too squirrelly to serve tables", Kelsey Pearsall is one of the most unique and thoughtful guests and people I've ever met. She's curious about life, and in between satiating her thirst for more knowledge and being a full-time mom to Winnie, she sat down to talk about UFO's, thoughts on the educational system and feeling left-behind by technology as it evolves. It was a great hour with someone I feel fortunate to call my friend. Enjoy!

  • The Big Boozy, Condensed....Behind The Beer With Lear

This Behind The Beer With Lear was gonna be a beaut; she had all the makings of a meetup of wild minds. Mr. Larry Phillips and Mr. David Hernandez joined us, with Dave bringing some real heavy hitters, and let me tell you...they were delicious. But the audio got messy after the first half hour, so this is a CONDENSED version of the show, with only the first three highlighted:

    1. Cafe Kola by Treehouse Brewing Co.

    2. 2010 Bourbon County Brand Stout by Goose Island

    3. Strawberry Jelly Donut Even More Jesus by Evil Twin Brewing.

All contributed to a great time, and we'll do it all again shortly. In the meantime....cheers!

  • Under The Tower W/Tyler, pt. 2...A Conversation With Tyler Hoke

In Part 2 of this interview, Tyler Hoke of Lost Signal Brewing Co. expresses his frustrations with a particular kettle sour, and I am frustrated with the audio quality of this show. There was a minor issue, and rather than re-record the show is worth keeping and listening to, because Tyler goes into greater detail with regards to his processes and thoughts on beers in general.

Enjoy this episode, and thanks again to Tyler for taking the time!

  • Under The Tower W/ Tyler, pt. 1.....A Conversation With Tyler Hoke

"If I can't make money, why don't I lose money?"......and that's only PART of the conversation I had with Tyler Hoke, the owner/operator and head brewer of Lost Signal Brewing Co. here in Springfield. In this first of a two-part interview, Tyler and I discuss his path into the brewing world, the value of marketing and the history of the radio station that he turned into a brewery and bbq joint. He gives his thoughts on how Guinness is simply a "black Bud Light" and we concur on the maligning of so-called "girlie-drinks", which are frankly delicious.

Julie Wilson hails from a long line of media outlets.....from improv to anchoring the news to local radio personality, she has seen some of the best, the worst and funniest stuff people are out here doing. • Who Are You 2022? A Monologue

SO here we are, we made it to 2022 and for some folks the future is nothing but aces, or so it would seem. But for others it's still a bit gray out there, and it can be a bit confusing without any true sunshine in the periscope as we surface back into reality.

But here's the good news! We're still here for each other, the show will still roll on and we will focus on getting one another through each week; that's the goal of this podcast, to help others hear the stories that inspire, give hope and make you laugh. I'll get there too.

So here's my welcome into the New Year. 152 shows to date, nearly 30k downloads and I'm grateful to each and every one of you for taking the ride with me. Cheers!

  • God's Starting QB....The Rev, Dane & I Get Into Christmas

It's time for the annual "gettin' in the spirit" podcast with The Rev (Jim Oman) and this year Dane Escobar joins in to enjoy some libations to tell stories and get down to one thing: hope. Even in light of catalytic converter theft, COVID and the world feeling like it's half a bubble off, hope still has a place in our lives. Enjoy a sweet chapter in a chaotic year. Merry Christmas, my friends......cheers!

Musical interludes by both Bad Religion and the one and only Dane Page
