Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side one of the band’s eponymous triumph; Genesis. Whoever would have thought that using the word Mama in a song would work? Well, Phil Collins was unconvinced in 1978, but by 1983 had come around 180 degrees and wrote an entire song around the word. What will Corey think of the eleven plus minute Home By The Sea suite? Will Kevin complain about the use of a drum machine on the opening track? The only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and that’s all!

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side two of Abacab. We have to talk about “that song” don’t we? Also, Corey finds out that Siri is no friend of Kevin’s, or maybe Kevin’s ridiculous accent is just getting in the way! Will Corey ballyhoo one of the worst songs ever recorded, by anyone, ever, and will Kevin lick any dildos (this will make sense if you listen to the episode, honestly)? The only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and rock out!

Abacab - Side One
Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side one of 1981’s Verse, Chorus, Verse, Bridge, Verse Chorus, Abacab. The band were booed by the prog rock faithful on the subsequent tour but it was a step closer to the commercial success they would enjoy throughout the rest of their career. Will Kev be on board with this new direction and will Corey appreciate the lone Tony Banks-penned track on the album? The only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and chicken out!

Duke - Side Two Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side two of 1980’s Genesis’ last true progressive rock album, Duke. The trio blaze into the top ten with the side two opener, Turn It On Again, before ending with the epic 11 minute Duke’s Travels / Duke’s End piece. Will Corey be curious about the fractured Duke suite? Is Kev going to start sulking now that the prog odyssey is pretty much over? The only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and chill out!

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side one of 1980’s Duke, the last album to be co-produced by David Hentschel and an abandoned attempt at a prog concept album. How will Kev react to the turn toward more pop-based fare on side one? What will Corey think of the original version of Behind The Lines? How would In The Air Tonight have turned out if it had ended up on the album? Some of these questions might be answered and the only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and zone out!

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side two of …And Then There Were Three… A first top ten hit for the band, the first album of the Collins era to feature six songs, and a whole lotta Tony Banks. But what does it all mean? Where will the album land compared to the two we’ve already covered? Will Corey finally break free of the prog days? Are all his fears are drifting by him so slowly now, fading away? What will Kevin think of the shorter Genesis songs? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to turn on, tune in, and chill out!

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side one of And Then There Were Three… Steve couldn’t hack it (see what I did there?) so moving forward, there are only three members of the band (see what THEY did there?) Is Corey going to love the Tony Banks contributions? Is Kevin finally going to criticize a song in this catalogue? Well, there’s only one way to find out and that’s to turn on, tune in, and drop out!

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side two of Wind and Wuthering, which means there aren’t as many words to talk about given that two of the five tracks are instrumental! Will Corey follow Tony Banks on a rodentical rollercoaster ride? Will Kevin ever stop banging on (pun intended) about Phil Collin’s drumming, and how will the boys rate side two? We’re going to end up with our second completed album and then we have to talk about another lineup change next week! It’s almost like Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford are difficult to work with…

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side one from the second album in the Phil Collins era of Genesis. Described by Tony Banks as the band’s most romantic album, Steve Hackett is back in full force. Wot (get it?) will Corey think of the instrumental that closes side one? Will Kev bang on and on about Phil Collins’ drumming ability and which song will come out on top for the boys on a seriously eclectic opening side of Wind and Wuthering.

Corey and Kevin are back to talk about side two from Trick of the Tail, the first Genesis record in the Phil Collins era. Has the band abandoned its prog roots yet? Can Phil Collins be trusted with weighty material like Ripples? What will Corey think of the story in Trick of the Tail and will Kevin have good things to say about the Side Two opening track or will he follow the generally-accepted fan consensus? Listen to this week's episode to find out. We'll also have our first overall rating decided for an album and will recap what we thought of Side One.
