S.W.A.T. apparently refuses to die.

For eight seasons, Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson and 20-Squad protected Los Angeles through dangerous missions, changing teams, character departures and, somehow, more than one cancellation.

Now the original series is over. But Hondo's story isn't.

In Episode 2 of Ultimate Mayhem, we're looking back at what made S.W.A.T. work, why the chemistry of 20-Squad became such an important part of the series, the departures of familiar faces like Street, Luca and Chris, and the absolutely ridiculous journey that saw the show cancelled, saved, given a final season, renewed again and eventually cancelled for real.

Then we're looking ahead to S.W.A.T. Exiles.

Hondo is back, but 20-Squad isn't. Instead, he's being asked to lead a new generation of recruits and somehow turn them into a team. With familiar faces including Deacon, Hicks and Tan also returning, the question isn't whether S.W.A.T. can survive another cancellation.

It's whether it can survive becoming something different.

From 20-Squad to Exiles, this is the story of the show that apparently wouldn't die.

Forty years ago, The Transformers: The Movie changed everything.

Optimus Prime fell. Megatron became Galvatron. Starscream finally got his coronation, although that didn't exactly go according to plan. Unicron arrived. Hot Rod inherited the Matrix. And an entire generation of kids learned that their favorite Autobots weren't guaranteed to make it to the end credits.

With The Transformers: The Movie returning to theaters for its 40th anniversary, Ultimate Mayhem is back and we're starting with one of the wildest animated movies of the 1980s.

In Episode 1, we're going back to the Battle of Autobot City and looking at the death of Optimus Prime, Prime versus Megatron, the arrival of Galvatron and Unicron, the rise of Rodimus Prime, that gloriously excessive soundtrack, and why this movie still means so much to Transformers fans four decades later.

This isn't a Cybertronian history lesson. That's what Shadows of Cybertron is for.

This is about the movie, the memories, the absolute chaos, and the day Optimus Prime died.
