Ryan Held is as good as they come when you talk about sprint talent in America. He was a multi-time Illinois State Champ in high school, multi-time NCAA champion in college, has won numerous National Titles on the pro level and has an Olympic Gold Medal from the 2016 Games. Dave Salo is a coaching LEGEND and we are honored to be able to have him on our show this week! Dave was head coach at the University of Southern California from 2006 to early 2020 when he stepped down from his post to turn his attention to his Olympic athletes who were (and still are) preparing for the Tokyo Games. Dave has coached numerous gold medalists wether it be at the NCAA, International, or Olympic level and his list of accolades seems to get longer every year. Known for his unique workout writing style, Dave was a pioneer of Ultra Short Race Pace Training (USRPT) and published a study titled "Sprint Salo" where he outlines the science behind his method. Dave believes in swimming REALLY FAST in training and leaving the slow, easy swimming for retirement, the results have been justified and proven time and time again. Ryan Murphy a.k.a “The King of Backstroke,” is a multi-time Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record Holder. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Ryan came home with 3 Gold Medals (100/200 Backstroke, 400 Medley Relay) and broke Aaron Peirsol’s world record in the 100 Backstroke leading off the medley relay in a time of 51.85. Collegiately, Ryan swam four years at Cal Berkeley and was a dominant force at the NCAA Championships becoming one of four swimmers ever to win the 100 and 200 of a stroke four years in a row. Ryan dominated the backstroke events setting multiple NCAA records on his way to becoming one of the most decorated swimmers in NCAA history. David Marsh is one of the all-time coaching greats in the sport of swimming and we are so excited to have him on our show. David coached at Auburn University for 16 years where he was able to produce 12 NCAA Titles along with numerous NCAA Records. After Auburn David made his way to Charlotte, North Carolina where he became the coach of SwimMac and helped their club rise to be one of the top club teams in the country. David had a short stint at UC San Diego and now coaches the pro group, Team Elite out on the west coast where he has a number of past Olympians and current Olympic hopefuls. After coaching 50 Olympians, spanning 19 countries all across the globe, and 6 Olympic Games, it's safe to say that David Marsh knows what it takes to become a true ULTIMATE SWIMMER!
