Ultra City Smiths is Steven Conrad’s creation in the same way Primal was a composite of Genndy Tartakovsky’s ideas. 

Like Tartakovsky, Conrad has had a prominent career. He wrote the screenplays to Nicholas Cage’s Weather Man, Will Smith’s Pursuit of Happiness, and Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. 

And This isn’t his first television show. 

Most recently, EPIX aired the neo-noir thriller Perpetual Grace, LTD.  And more notably, he completed two seasons of Patriot for Amazon.
